Golden Fry in Chelmsford

The lady in the golden fry she always nice and the food really good the chips are really nice and the sausage is really good and she always smiles and treats you with respect

Medium cod and chips, not only did they manage to over cook the cod (cremated) but the chips were disgusting oily and not crispy at all will not be going back ever.

Good quality of sausage and chips, service is great and the staff are wonderful! Definitely give it a 5 out of 5!

Got a pensioner’s cod and chips for one of my clients great service very substantial meal for £3:50 my client loved it

Never having used this takeaway before, I was very impressed with the quality and value for money of the fish and chips. Meal for four cost less than £25. There was a wide variety of food options available in addition to the fish

Since moving this side off town these are the best fish & chips in Chelmsford, and really friendly staff

Normally the food is amazing with large portion sizes. Lovely family run business who aways greet you with a smile. Not sure what happened tonight but food was really greasy and half my chips weren't cooked although looked well done! Awful! You need to teach your staff some manners too as the bigger lady (sorry not meant to sound rude!) comes accross arrogant and is really rude! Will try again in a few weeks, hopefully will be back to the normal lovey food

Food normally lovely and big portions but tonight, unfortunately, was awful! Chips looked overcooked but half of mine were raw and crunchy and the battered cod was wet and swimming in oil! Such a shame! Staff are lovely except for the larger lady that served me this evening was very rude and full of attitude?! Shame as everyone else in the shop are really kind and polite. Hopefully better next week when we come again.

Local chippy, staff are polite, food is reasonably priced. Chips are good, usually steer away from the fish but other sides are good. Best curry sauce I've had in a while and don't know how they make it like that! Defo worth a try if you fancy a change. Oh, and it's cash only but there are 2 cash points in the parade (1 in co-op)
