Hanging Gardens Nursery & Tearoom in Chelmsford

Stopped off for lunch on the way home. We had never visited before and didn't know what to expect. We ordered drinks and then Coronation Chicken and Roasted Chicken and Bacon sandwiches on Granary. Wow, what a surprise. Two large sandwiches bursting with filling, a delicious salad, coleslaw and crisps. Fantastic. Coffee lovely and a large pot of tea for one. Definitely coming back. Our young waitress was very pleasant and polite.

Great Breakfast here! Staff were lovely, service quick, even though it was quite busy. Food was great! Proper good quality sausages & bacon. Tea was lovely too! Definitely worth a visit!

Very nice menu choices available plus a daily specials board. If you want just tea or coffee with a scone etc. that's available or good choice of breakfasts (until 11:30) and a variety of main meals or snacks. Very nice staff and service good.

What a little oasis of peace and good food. Out on the motorcycle and stopped here for a bite and a coffee. Service is outstanding and a lovely lady Nina has just brightened up my day. Good coffee and ample parking.

Had a very good brunch today at the Potting Shed Tea Room. 5 people in total, 3 children and 2 adults. They order did get messed up but they did everything to sort it and even comped the two meals that were wrong, as well as their drinks. The food was beautifully presented. The children had beans on toast with eggs. I had granary bread with avocado and poached eggs. My partner had the big breakfast. We were there for just over an hour. Walked away feeling full and satisfied.

Afternoon tea. Lovely fresh food. Great mix of sweet and savoury and generous portions. Great price too. Would highly recommend and make sure you book as it gets very busy

What a wonderful little place !!! A beautiful tea room with friendly and attentive staff and the most delicious food around! Myself and my mum have now been multiple times and have had incredible food each time, a great selection on the menu and the specials always make it so hard to pick as they all sound so yummy! We look forward to continuing our visits and bringing family and friends along too !!

Popped in for elevenses on a weekday morning spent pottering around the garden centre.So happy that we did. We found lots of very attentive and jovial staff, drinks and food arrived quickly and with a smile!My full English was superb and piping hot with great quality ingredients. My wife chose the poached egg and avocado - both of which survived about twelve minutes.Thank you Potting Shed! Excellent!

Probably the best sandwich I've ever had. And I've had a few.First ever visit and went for the Christmas Dinner in a sarnie special which comes with a pot of dipping gravy 😋Really friendly staff.Be back next week - just hope the special is still on 🤞

Fantastic Full English Breakfast!! Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back again.
