Lanthong in Chelmsford

Best restaurant I have ever been to. Lovely food, lovely presentation and lovely service.

Had a wonderful experience at Lanthong last night. We booked in advance as we were uncertain how busy it would be. We were greeted personally which was really lovely and seated, the restaurant was empty save for a group of 4 however the atmosphere was really lovely, because it was calm, intimate and relaxing. And meant the service was pretty quick! We were told that usually during the week there's no need to book but it's usually a good idea to book for a Friday or Saturday evening.We ordered a couple of starters: Thai Dim Sum and Thai Fish Cakes. Both really delicious.Then we ordered a Chicken Thai Green Curry to share, I had the Honey Roast Duck Breast and my fiance had a Hot Beef Red Curry. We had a Jasmine Rice each. There was plenty of food and it was absolutely heavenly. All the food was presented beautifully.We asked to take home what was left of the curries and ordered desserts. I had banana fritter with ice cream which was incredible and my fiance had a pistachio and saffron ice cream.We will definitely be back, I can't believe we haven't been sooner! Looking forward to our next visit.

One of our favourites - vast array of amazing Thai specialties always cooked fresh and never fails to deliver on flavours and great service - we're regulars for that reason!

My wife is Thai and loves the food here. Do a really good lunch deal ; starter and main plus Tea or Coffee for £9.95

It's a little hidden gem in the heart of Chelmsford. Hard to find the entrance as it's a small door leading up to the restaurant, but once there, staff is welcoming, professional, friendly and just the ideal place to enjoy some nice Thai cuisine. I've also bought via takeaway (on Deliveroo), the waiting time was exactly as advertised so no bad surprises there either, compared to some other places in Chelmsford! The food itself has been great every time I've used this restaurant, fresh and flavoursome, the portions are of decent size and prices are certainly very reasonable. I love their coconut milk curry, highly recommend (ps: I'm vegetarian but there are options for all types of eaters!). I would recommend highly if you fancy some nice and hearty Thai food :)

Extremely hard to find this restaurant. Definitely dont attempt to collect from there. Also didn't get the fresh sence I get from other thai cuisine. No crunch to anything I ordered ie sat in juices. For to long.

Still the best Thai in Chelmsford. It's tucked away and the decor isn't fancy but the food is fantastic and I'm so pleased it's survived the pandemic.

The atmosphere was relaxing, not crowd, not noise. All the items are quality and refer to Asian / Thai culture. The duck dish was served on a duck shape 🐥 plate. The food was fresh, spicy and hot, by the book. Alright prices and parking 50meters away.

This is a great hidden jem. Up the stairs into the ole thai restaurant. They have a great selection of dishes. The staff are always great and the food has always come out piping hot. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

A little gem in Chelmsford. Great service and the food was non greasy and cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning!
