Meadow Croft in Chelmsford

Arrived at 3.35pm (Sunday) asked member of staff if she knew if they had a certain plant in stock to be told the till is about to close! Never did find out if the plant was available! The nursery is very well laid out, lovely gift area, made a purchase at 3.55pm when an announcement was made they were closing. In my opinion the staff member had plenty of time to help me rather than being so blunt!

All the staff are so incredibly helpful here. Great that they have a little crazy golf course and play area for the kids too. Went with a friend for tea and cake, restaurant was great, cake was very good, service with a smile. Purchased a garden furniture set, very quick delivery, the guys unwrapped it all and took away the box/ packaging. Noticed a bad scratch as unwrapping the sofa, they took it away and came back with a replacement within an hour!! So helpful. Would thoroughly recommend Meadow Croft.

Parking was free and easy more than enough space the staff are helpful efficient and friendly.The prices aren't at supermarket structure but the quality is so much better and the plants don't look dead . There is a vast for selection of all things garden an internal coffee shop and a small crazy golf if you did all the activities 2 hours.

Really lovely plants very healthy and fresh looking. They are a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. Cafe is good for a quick coffee or snack. Well worth a visit. Not sure about the golf though.

This is a great garden centre to visit, especially if you are visiting RHS Hyde Hall.The cafe is really nice with a whole page of vegan food and a gluten free page as well. The staff were all lovely and the food was excellent, very hot and served on beautiful plates. Nice quite atmosphere with well space tables and all kept very clean (no sticky tables here).The plant centre is big and well stocked and indoors they are jelly cat soft toys, Powder accessories and lots of other interesting stuff.

We only popped in as someone had recommended the cafe! In fact it was great. Best sausage and caramelised onion sandwich in a long time. I had prawn, which was fabulous. This is a well stocked garden centre, which also has crazy golf. Also a good gift section.

THIS REVIEW IS ON THE 'GERMAN' MARKETThe German Christmas Market was about as German as Gdansk. The so called market is located in a dark room with barley audible festive tunes in the background. The first thing you encounter is a set of polish baubles, followed by some polish honey. The next item you see are the worst attempt at a nutcracker I have ever seen!! With a price of £25! The tesco nut crakers are far nicer and quater that amount. You then greeted by some extremely expensive beer and steins with no price, I fear the worst. Then came the food which was poor at best, and expensive. The next item in the 'German' market was some lovely Dutch apple cake, stroopwafles and some Danish cookies. So overall a very disappointing attempt at a German market.

German Christmas Market!! Lots of yummy food and drink, gift ideas and gorgeous baubles.Looks even prettier illuminated when it gets dark.We saw the little chap in the first photo and nicknamed him PunkBull.(Second photo obtained from the Meadowcroft website).Wunderbar!! Danke!! 🎄

I love the German market they have at Meadow Croft at Christmastime. It's quite pricey tbh but many of the things you'll buy there, you'll keep for years and years. So there's plenty of value for your money.There's also a huge range of other Christmas decs and gifts outside of the German market, and my daughter and I even got in nine holes of free minigolf, too.

The garden centre did well again for the German market. Bradwurst sausage in a bun sorry not worth the money. Didn't complain. Sausage was tasteless and the buns fell apart. German beer was good but could have been colder. Did a bit of putting with my Grandsons.
