New Oriental House in Chelmsford

Very nice Chinese, admittedly it went downhill previously so we hadn’t been in years but we gave it a try tonight it was great! Bang on time, pleasant staff and not a single thing forgotten. Highly recommend.

Ordered food 2 hours before we wanted it delivered. It turned up an hour late!Called to ask where it was only to be spoken to by a non apologetic employee who sounded like they were used to getting similar calls.When it finally arrived the meal was lukewarm, and went cold very quickly after we dished it up.We ordered the Crackling Pork dish but after spending over an hour in a plastic container the only crackling part was the lid being taken off the box.Overall the quality of the food was good but our meal was ruined by poor service. They need to address the deliveries if they want to keep their customers.On this experience and the apathetic attitude of the staff we won’t be going back.

I stopped using this takeaway about 8 months ago as it went very downhill, but yesterday I decided to give it another go as things change, but unfortunately it was worse than I remembered. Definitely will not be going back!

Usually a great takeaway, but to nights was disappointing, only just warm, king prawn balls undercooked and stodgy. We asked for two pancakes rolls , only got one, but the one was very tasty. I think they were busy and not able to cope very well, Such a shame.

Lovely food, fresh, staff helpful. Small off main road takeaway. Do not be put off as it is small an I side road. Best Chinese in long time, good price

One of the best Chinese takeaways around! Friendly staff, great food. It was a sad day when the restaurant closed down but the takeaways are still top notch!

Ordered a standard chow mein, the basics of a Chinese takeaway in England. Pretty dry noodles, not much flavour, barely any bean sprouts and no onions or absolutely anything else. Okay portion size and not bad price.

Pretty standard chinese takeaway. Been using it since the 1980's off and on. It has gone down hill a bit over the last few years in my opinion. Food a bit 'gluggy' and/or salty, portions smaller and prices high.Update: Under new ownership it has improved a bit but the prices are still highish and the portions small. Especially infuriating is the inability to use contactless payment for anything less than £15.

We last had a takeaway meal from this restaurant one year ago which was terrific and tasty in every way and I can only assume they now have new staff. The meal we had last night was awful, the chicken was tough the sweet and sour pork (?) balls were inedible and the rest was of poor quality. Will not be having food from this restaurant again. Such a shame.
