Pig and Whistle in Chelmsford

We had a lovely time here meeting up with some friends for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was great. I’d highly recommend and will definitely be back.

I had a wonderful trio of pork and it was so posh! The setting was ornate with lit candles around the room and on the table. You’re surrounded by exquisite antiques everywhere you look. The owners serve you themselves and make sure you’re having a lovely time. The bartenders were absolutely wonderful and I could not recommend a better place. If you want the true elegant dining experience, this is the place to go. It overlooks wonderful fields and a perfect place to dine and watch the sunset.

Looked ( and smelled) incredible. I didn't actually eat here in the end, I wanted a casual outdoor pub lunch because it was a warm day not something quite this wonderful but I will go back. Sadly their garden wasn't open yet or we wouldn't have been able to resist it. It is a real destination restaurant with what looked like amazing food, really professional staff and the most gorgeous menu. The place looked full, couples, smart ladies who lunch. It was hard to leave! Had I been with my husband It would have been a no brainer. The mothers Day menu looked very well priced, but I think go ready to spend a reasonable amount and treat yourself to a wonderful meal.

Absolutely superb meal yesterday. Food was simply amazing, lovely wine list, great champagne and a nice choice of cognacs. First class friendly service in wonderful surroundings. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back again soon. Gareth

Bit of a last minute hunt for a roast dinner and came here. Not many roasts on the menu. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was amazing. I had roast Chicken and my wife had roast pork. Desserts were divine too. Highly recommend and we will be back for more soon.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been to a restaurant and had my expectations blown out of the water like this place did. This was my first time here and my expectations were exceeded by the get go. From the very attentive staff, to the exceptional food, not to mention the exquisite decor everywhere you looked. They got the ambience memo right, from the spacing of the tables, the decor, music and lighting. They got it all right! Thank you for hosting the most wonderful meal. Can those scallops just melt in my mouth again?!I cannot wait to come back but even more so, to tell my friends and anybody who will listen about this place.To the owners (you know who you are with your lovely accent and wonderful vibes) : Just Impeccable 10/10To the new customers: You won’t be disappointed!

This was a special meal for our anniversary and I'm so glad we found this place. The atmosphere and ambience is sublime, the music relaxing and pleasant, the service was super friendly and relaxed but efficient, and the food. Wow. My husband, who often responds with Good or Nice when asked how his meal was, used terms like Outstanding and Delicious, which in itself should be a testiment to the quality. Every course was spot on and gave you a satisfied pleasant feeling at the end of 3 courses, not stuffed and regretful! Cannot recommend the blueberry panacotta enough. This place is an absolute must if you're in the area and have something to celebrate or just want a divine meal in super chilled surroundings. Wonderful.

What a gem! Ate here while on a mini-break near Chelmsford and thoroughly enjoyed it. The menu offers a good range and each item we ordered was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and provided a flavour sensation. I can usually take or leave deserts, but the blueberry pana cotta was stand out. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended!

Took my husband for a 50th birthday lunch and the food was amazing , the service was amazing too we were well attended too,the staff were there but didnt hassle you all the time as they do in some places , if you get to go order the fillet steak it was just melt in your mouth.They do a set lunch which is fantastic value which we didnt have this time but we will be returning to try it. Thank you to all the team for making my husbands birthday a great day . Will be returning very soon xx
