The Bear in Chelmsford

An incredible place. The atmosphere is amazing, staff always friendly and kind and the food is delicious - so well presented. I'd definitely recommend!

On our first time visit both staff and manager were very accommodating and provided a very good table service. Food on the whole was excellent and one of the best burgers we had tasted in this area for a long time. Only one minor critisism, one of the burgers was not cooked well done as request (more med-well). Desert was delicious and worth the calorie sacrifice! Not the the greatest value for money but not outrageously overpriced either. So overall very happy with our experience and will be visiting again soon

Lovely place for a cosy meal. Booked a table for Sunday lunch which was very good quality with excellent service, in a lovely setting, with the fire going. What's not to love. Very relaxing place to eat, and will be going back.

A great local restaurant, the beef Bourguignon was divine! Excellent wine list for a small gastro pub. And the chicken liver paté was equally delicious.

Not the best place for vegetarian but at least they have some options. We tried beriyani rice. Very rich in spice but tastes bland. The soufflé is an innovative ones but nothing special.Appetizers surprisingly taste good with wild mushroom risotto and brie bread

I visited The Bear Inn this evening. Firstly, what a stunningly beautiful, cosy pub. The fire way on. The Christmas decorations made it feel so festive. The menu was great. An excellent variety and clearly labeled for GF and Vegans etc. The festive menu also looks fabulous. Although I didn't try it. I will definitely be back with friends to try more from this menu. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Has its own car park. Definitely recommend and worth a visit! Five stars!

What a fantastic place, we sat outside looking over the duck pond, in the sunshine, staff were friendly and attentive. Absolutely smashed the scotch egg out the park. Scallops were delicious. 10/10.

We had a great lunch at The Bear Inn, in the lovely outdoor marquee. We were the only table, which seems a shame, as the menu is good and we all enjoyed our food.
