Eat outside for a change and the service was very good as was the choice and quality of the food.

Food was great and so was service. Sandwiches are great with the salad and coleslaw.

Great beer, superb food and friendly service. They kindly fitted us in close to last food orders on Sunday at 4pm, we had the roast beef which was cooked to perfection. Vegetables were a selection of beautifully seasoned tender stem brocolli, purple carrots and some red cabbage. All in all a bloomin great little pub :)

Drinks here are good. But, upon coming back for a Sunday lunch, we were deeply disappointed. The fish and chips were extremely heavy and led to a stomach ache the whole evening. The roast beef was again disappointing as the plate was covered mostly with potatoes and veg, with minimal beef and a single Yorkshire pudding (for £15.95). When asked "are the potatoes crispy" I received a "yes" from the server. However, the roast potatoes are skin on. The selection of veg served was nice - beetroot, stem brocoli, peas, the odd carrot and parsnip.Additionally, we were asked 3 times by 3 different servers if we were finished, and felt unpleasantly rushed.

Nice pub in quiet area, but the food is so average and small portions. I particularly didn’t like the chips which were cooked with the skins on, this should be a request and not as standard, also don’t like the burgers and coleslaw being served on a wooden platter.

Friendly staff. Very average food. Would come again for a drink but not to eat although due to the location that would be unlikely.Chips are skin on chips, I dislike skin on chips. And they should be a request item only rather than the standard chip option. I can usually tolerate them but the "chips" from this establishment are exceptionally greasy.

Smashing pub with several, interesting rooms. Interesting food menu and attentive service. Thanks!

After walking through Danbury Common we stopped off for lunch. It felt very covid safe with everyone wearing masks. We had the Sunday roasts (chicken and vegan Wellington). The food was delicious but a little bit on the sparse side, even if just bulked out with some more veg. The Yorkshire’s weren’t unfortunately the best but overall food was good and would definitely come back. Also very welcoming to dogs! Thank you.

Outstanding food. Lovely dining room. Friendly staff. We will 100% be back. The restaurant is dog friendly too. I had a great birthday dinner here!

Had a lovely walk on the local common with the dog and then had lunch in this dog friendly pub, the Staff where friendly and attentive the food was fantastic and presented beautifully. Could not recommend this place more highly.
