We had a booking at another local pub which went utterly sideways so my daughter put in a call to these guys at nearly half 8 on a Saturday night to ask if they could get 6 of us in. They told us to go straight over, they had a table ready for us and we had an absolutely fantastic meal with excellent service throughout. This is definitely our new go-to local for a great meal out.

I have been at the Fox and Goose a few times before and always had lovely meals. I unfortunately brought my family yesterday for Mother’s Day a table of 8. . I have given 2 stars just for service and the amazing mixed platter starter.Unfortunately though the main courses were all well under the usuals standard the roasts had overcooked meat, reheated roast potatoes and rubbery Yorkshire puddings, just one bowl of veg for 3 people that was mainly Purple cabbage. My triple cooked chips had obviously got cold and been re- heated and were inedible and the fish had sat too long and the batter had become soft, the burger was dry. The steak was lovely but the potato thing underneath it was wet with oil and untouchable. It felt like all meals had been sat somewhere and then reheated. The salads were nice. With a bill of nearly £500 I wish I had cooked the usual toast at home. Maybe 3-15pm booking was just the wrong time, who knows but a real shame as I thought the Fox and Goose was a dead cert.

Enthusiastic and efficient staff, good vibe presented because I believe they all do actually care! Food is tasty, well presented and just enough. I've never been a fan of "Wetherspoons style" ordering somewhere and paying for it there, giving a table number and hoping the table's still free when you get back to it, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. There's so many staff running around, and with healthy prices - I'm surprised they can't take orders at the table - inside at least. I saw a gentleman getting up to find where to order their deserts from - to me that's in the middle of a meal. Having said that the place is bursting at the seams with customers so, perhaps it doesn't matter to the owners eh. The Wetherspoons food ordering method feels a bit McDonalds'esq to me but the good food and staff may draw us in for a second trial.

4 stars for the roast, but avoid the terrible breadboard...6 slices of hovis-style bread and no salted butter as per menu.

Excellent food and fantastic service. The young waiter and waitress couldn't have been anymore attentive. We were a large party but we were all served together and the food was piping hot. Will definitely go back.

Just stopped here for a quick lunch and have been surprised by the nice location and the good food they offer. We ordered from the Bake house menu, which has a good selection of pub standards. Try the pork crackling - they are amazing! Staff is polite, knowledgeable and quick. We will definitely come back!

Folly bistro very nice food just a little over cooked pork loin tuff as boots but must say very good food. The coffee shop and cakes is a must go to when open during the day scrummy.
