The Lordship Tea Room in Chelmsford

Disappointing and very overpriced menu. Expected better selection from a Tiptree jams tea room. Went for a lunch to celebrate son's final GCSE Exam, left without buying anything as nothing really appealed and prices were over the top.

First time here, while it has a lovely ambience, the service was poor. Took almost 30 minutes to get scones and coffee. Staff were very polite and apologetic, however that's a sour experience.

A great variety of Tiptree jam sold here!I had the halloumi tomato sandwich with an extra sausage (ordered extra). It was heavenly! Hope to be back

Beautiful little tea room, in Writtle, a and providing you ask when you get there if there's room for dogs, no problem...I was promised a cream tea from My Brother in Law (when I came out of Hospital).. So me being me I kept him to his word (NOT that he would of not remembered).. The "Tea Room" was really pretty, and with seating outside in the courtyard, a d about 8tables inside... I found the prices to be a little bit more expensive, BUT when u think the Tea Room is set on the same ground as Writtle College, and the fact that they sell and use "Tiptree products", the price doesn't seem so bad.Beautiful scones, jam n cream, and lovely coffee, good selection of sandwiches /jackets etc..I really had a lovely Afternoon, with my Mum, Aunt, and Brother in law, and our 3 mischievous dogs,..Thank you very much for a really lovely Afternoon and great food.

Great service with friendly staff and plenty of space to sit. They don't scrimp on sandwich fillings, and the cakes are delish.

Good food, basic menu, generous pots of tea, friendly staff. I would advise booking in advance tried to book in the morning and was told no booked tables available but would only have to wait approx 10 mins it was at least 30 minutes. Nowhere to wait without having to constantly move out of the way of other customers. I would not go again without a pre booked table.

People have choice to eat indoors or outdoors and I like to say you can book a table indoors, we found the staff are friendly and helpful

Popped in for lunch wthout booking. Pretty busy but friendly staff fitted me in. Excellent quiche, boiled potatoes and salad with pot of tea. Have been before and will visit again.

Loveky little cafe. Staff really nice and dog friendly as well.Had a brie and bacon sandwich which was very tasty. Had a checkt mar crunch on the way out which was lush!Very pleased on a flying visit through.

It was an excellent outing at the team room. The people were friendly. The food was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. You could either sit in or outside. The selection of dessert cakes was very impressive. We were spoilt for choice. The Bakewell tart was definitively homemade. It was sweet, moist and melted on the tongue. See you soon.
