Lovely, excellent service, professional yet friendly, with an interesting menu and ultimately as you would hope, great food.

Great food, and service. Very busy so made a good atmosphere without being too noisy. The only reason for 4* is the lighting. Just a bit too dark for my already poor eyes, would suit a smokey little cocktail bar with jazz playing but with dinner it made it harder to see menu and food.

Food fine dining and fabulous. Wonderful ambience. Just a minor thing as constructive criticism, in that when our meal was delivered to the table, the staff member walked off and we wasn't asked if there was anything else we needed, only to discover that we required condiments, this then took us a minute or so to attract a staff members attention whilst our meal was going cold. That said I'd still return.

Excellent venue.Came here for an early dinner with my father and my family. The staff are great here, they're so patient and well organised. The food is excellent and great value for money. We will certainly be back for an evening dining experience. Thanks for looking after us.

3rd time tonight. Gets better every time. This restaurant may be a bit more pricy than all the other restaurants in Chelmsford but that's because they're the best! ALL the staff are superb. Can't recommend this place enough!

Atmosphere is good. A little to dark for my liking as couldn’t see the colour of my pork and when we arrived the place looked closed!. Food is better than OK but the price is a bit high for the quality. We had a table of 4 and 3 of us (all with same dish) agreed it was over seasoned and to salty. My wife’s parsnip was also raw in the middle (rest we’re fine) and not enough sauce. For the price you expect consistency and our 3 dishes were presented slightly different eg sauce/gel was on the meat or on the plate. Wine was good and the desert was good (no starter)… we found the service was very good and attentive (though we were the first table of the night)…. Hard to say if this was a bad day or not. Will probably wait a while before going back, which is a shame as it’s the only place in the area trying to be fine dining. Overall it’s good but not great.

We booked here at short notice for a party of 5 for Sunday lunch, having not been here for 5 or 6 years and having no real memory of it.It's neatly and tastefully decorated, with textured wallpaper- a real benefit as it absorbs sound, making it quieter when busy. The prix fix menu was £23 for 2 courses, £29 for 3. The wine was excellent and reasonably priced. The food was very very good, perfect roast beef, good pork loin, chicken and a nice fish fish. We didn't have the vegan option.Desserts were excellent, I had a lovely ginger pud with ice cream, scrumptious.Lastly, the service was very good, plenty of staff but unobtrusive. We'll be going back for an evening dinner to see if they're as good as the Sunday lunch.

Fantastic fine dining. My daughter took me here for my birthday, it was the first day of the new menu (which they change every eight weeks) I was blown away with the quality of the food, it was delicious and well presented. Also the cocktails were divine. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable when discussing the menu and how they go about trying new food combinations. Not to forgot the washroom, very clean and individual hand towels for each person 👌🏻We will definitely be back again soon.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for a little while having seen that it recently been modernised. So as we were meeting friends on Saturday this seemed like an ideal opportunity as Chelmsford is in between where we all live. Set on the outskirts of the town and just a 15 minute stroll from the station in a peaceful part of the town. As we entered we could here a lot of noise the reason being they do a Bottomless Prosecco Lunch deal on a Saturday. I can honestly say that if there was just the two of us I would have apologised but left straight away. But there was four of us so in we went and as it happened by the time we got to our mains the majority had left. Now on to the lunch itself where the food was good as was the service. We started with the white crab meat , the roasted pigeon & the smoked mackerel with a Crispy Hens Egg which were very nicely cooked and presented although the crab meat starter did seem quite small We then moved onto our mains the Maple Pork Loin , the pan fried Chalkstream Trout while two of us had the Roast Lamb Rump together with sides of Truffle Fat Chips & vegetables. All dishes were very good and again nicely cooked and presented Before dessert we decided to share a cheese course which consisted of 8 cheeses from around Britain & Ireland together with crackers , grapes & chutney Now it time to finish with desserts they had a choice of 5 so we decided to order them all a milk chocolate iced parfait , clotted cream pannacotta , the hot ginger cake , lemon drizzle cake & the chocolate fondant which did have a slight issue as it came with a basil sorbet that was quite strong. We informed the waiter who said it was something new that the chef was trying therefore thanked us for our feedback This brought to an end a very nice lunch to which we all enjoyed. If I was to return and as their open all day on Saturday it would be in the afternoon or an evening. But if your a group and a Prosecco Lunch is for you then this a nice restaurant for that as the food and service is good
