The Railway Tavern in Chelmsford

Great pub serving some really interesting, well kept ales. Bigger on the inside than it looks from outside. Definitely worth a visit.

A superb pub! Lovely staff and lovely ales. They're always very well looked after and have a great taste. A firm favourite of ours, we are regular visitors.

£4.50 for a Fosters must, must, surely be the most expensive in Chelmsford, the equivalent of a pint of Heineken in any other pub. By the train station, hense the Railway. These pubs usually think they can charge whatever they like, but here in Chelmsford there are plenty of other local, cheaper pints. First visit in 2.5 years, i have to remember to buy something else or i will be skint. Nice but small pub otherwise

Really lovely pub and the staff are very friendly. Enjoyed a nice evening recently and had a great choice of beers.

Friendly pub, clean and had a community feel to it. No stouts or porters at the moment, but that's just a temporary thing the staff member said, but there was a decent mild. Comfortable and welcoming, would recommend.

Great selection of ales served at the proper temperature near the train and bus station. Paved beer garden with flowers and a good atmosphere. Lovely on a sunny day! No wifi and a curt sign on the door about using the toilets only if you're a customer prevents a 5 star

A great selection of ales. First stop when arriving by train and last stop when leaving for the long trip home. Friendly staff and good service. Outside area is always clean and cozy
