The Riverside Inn Restaurant in Chelmsford

Lovely historic building dating from 17th century. Some of the old milling equipment is on display. Nice location near the river and a very pleasant outdoor area for those warmer days. Service was very good and although we just had drinks we looked at the menu which gives a nice selection of food choices. Ideal location for myself and my friend as it's within walking distance from our residential complex.

We arrived early but they were able to seat us. Service was good and great roast dinners. Puddings were nice too. Generous portions.

This is truly the best Roast dinner 🥘 I have ever had in a pub! I don’t ever give 5 stars, there’s always room for improvement. But not this time. We’ll done! It was so good I didn’t want to have dessert in case it spoiled it, the dessert was just as good.

We arrived at the Riverside Inn at 3.30pmish. We had got ourselves a drink(2 of us) and decided where to sit. We had met friends there and they were sitting in the corner. We were told rather rudely by a young girl with blondish hair to go outside as we were taking up too much room. The bar was empty and we were just deciding wear to sit. We ended up leaving as felt uncomfortable due to the rude member of staff behind the bar

Great place to stay, close to Chelmsford city centre. The Inn has plenty of character, with large beams in a very comfortable room. Parking directly opposite the Inn.

Me and my partner booked here for a Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. Great sized portions and beautiful cut of beef. The staff also looked all rather young but they did not hold back on service! Very attentive and friendly and did a great job of making sure me and my partner had a drink in our hands. Overall beautiful place with great staff. Will be back again.
