The best full English I have had in years. Really nice sitting in the secret garden underneath a tree. Would recommend to everyone in Chelmsford. Delicious. Also really nice staff.

What a lovely place, service was friendly, loads of outdoor seating. Breakfast was beautiful and really reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back, thoroughly recommend.

Disappointed with breakfast service this morning. Food was excellent but a simple cup of tea was forgotten, tried to attract attention to waitress who gave me no eye contact and said she would return in a minute, but again forgot.Tea eventually arrived and was very nice.

This is a pretty little place but a little unloved from what I expected. Needs a little tidy up and maintenance. The food we had was all nice. Well made sandwiches and cakes. The scones were a little too sweet for my liking , I'm not sure I've ever had scones that sweet before. I sampled several drinks, the tea was nice, the earl grey a little bland but okay. However I also treated myself to a caramel latte. This was actually undrinkable as it was made using what must be a very low quality syrup. It was so sickly sweet I tried adding more milk to it but I just could not do enough. I think as is so often the case they were too generous with the syrup and it had totally overwhelmed the coffee. I suggest trying using 15ml max for the size of drink to the owners. Maybe less. Or a better syrup! I did not complain as I was not the person paying but they seemed nice people so I'm sure they would have got me another if I had asked. My only other complaint is they all appear to take their lunch together. So you go from lots of staff to noone without warning. Ideally in this type of place lunches should be staggered. I dont believe its unusual as several people commented it was normal. I would go back but perhaps not for scones or anything with syrup in. It is a pretty little place. Plenty of parking and excellent access to the areas we used. They have a disabled toilet. I will upgrade my star rating if the place has a bit of maintenance and if the sweetness of the syrup in the coffee reduces.

Tucked away off Writtle Road, by the cemetery, is this pretty little cafe. The menu is simple and well chosen - sandwiches/paninis with various fillings and a small number of hot plates. There are plenty of tables outside where it's nice to sit in the 'garden' in the summer - there are heaters if it gets chilly. The furniture is all rather haphazard which is much in keeping with the general ambiance. It's a nice place to relax for lunch.

I had a veggie full English breakfast and it was cooked perfectly and delicious and a generous portion. The staff were attentive and very friendly. It was a lovely experience altogether.

We had a 100th Birthday Party here in November and the staff couldn’t do enough for us.They were all amazing and made everyone feel welcome, including the Birthday Boy.The food was great and the room was the perfect size for our group of 30+ people. It’s easily accessible for wheelchairs and walking frames and has plenty of parking.Thank you all for an amazing evening.

Love this place. Popped in for coffee and mince pie after I'd been to the Surgery over the road. They do a lovely variety of foods. Will go again when I'm next at Surgery. Do try it yourself and see. You'll not be disappointed.
