I had the rump steak, on a few occasions, perfect every time, staff very friendly, it's more of a sports bar but I have enjoyed every time I've been in there.....

Went down the Crier today for a few practice games of pool 🎱 had some lite bites and watched the Arsenal game in the sports bar. Friendly staff, good range of draught ales and beers.

I visit this pub from time to time for lunch. It is a standard green king pub menu which is nothing special but great value especially if you take the inclusive deals - eg two pub classics for around £12. The green king cask ales are very good - the pub keeps them in optimal condition. The service used to be good but I guess that depends on a competent chef. On my most recent visits food service has been slow - 40 minutes wait for toasted sandwiches and chips - very poor especially as there were very few diners. The excuse was they were serving a big table - but it was only six people and even then they were all served food at different times. I imagine this place gets busy as a local boozer at nights - lots of TV screens.I will leave it a while but will try it again one day in hope they fix the poor service. There are some very nice pub restaurants near by but they are much more expensive.

My partner and I went for a late lunch, it wasn’t busy however were told there was a 35 minute wait so we waited and when we eventually received our food we got our side first, then our starter and 1 main, then a second main about 15 minutes later, we wouldn’t have ordered a starter if we had known it would be arriving with the mains. The burger that was ordered was missing ingredients listed on the menu and was massively over cooked, the gammon was dry and chewy aswell as being burnt on top, it was advertised as being 8oz however I’d be surprised if it was even 6oz. The manager offered us a free dessert which we declined and eventually requested a refund for the burger which was inedible - and we really aren’t picky at all! But this food was really poor quality and definitely not worth the money charged, the manager apologised but didn’t seem too concerned by our complaint so would not eat there again!
