White Elm Garden Centre and Tearoom in Chelmsford

Very good range of products across a massive site. The café was very busy, but orders were brought to the tables by smiling and happy staff. Would have been 5 🌟 review but, in my opinion, the site needs clearer direction signage to guide customers

Food and drinks excellent and good range to choose from whether meal or afternoon tea. Staff friendly and helpful. Other shops there and can highly recommend the butchers and grocers. However it is a big busy place with lots of families so often noisy.

Lovely little centre, there was a long cue to the petting zoo but it went down quickly. Plenty of shops in all one space. I mainly went down for the reptile shop but the other shops are lovely.

Lovely little farm & garden centre. Perfect for small kids in the farm & indoor play area. Nice little shops in the garden centre. Enjoyed our day out, will definitely be back.

Great garden center with a high selection of quality plants. The kids loved the animals and the sweet shop. Adults, beware of the sweet shop! Lots of choices from your childhood. Easy to get carried away and end up at the dentist!

I love going to this garden centre. They have a great selection of bulbs and plants for very reasonable prices. They also make beautiful customised hanging baskets. Both gardeners Jess and Craig are always helpful and give advice in plant care or help to choose suitable plants for any garden.

First visit to the petting centre - what a GREAT outing. I was with my grandchildren and hadn't booked 😳 But the lovely lady in the kiosk let us in 😁😘 recommending we book next time! We all loved feeding the animals though a very naughty goat stole my bucket 😳 I'll be better prepared next time 🤣 So much for the kids to do and see. I really liked the wash stations and they came in handy due to muddy falls!!All rewarded with a nice cup of tea & sandwich in the cafe. Little Jimmy ate all of his fish fingers mash & beans!Brought some primroses on the way out. All in all a memorable visit and it won't be our last!

Really well presented, the prices and condition of the plants are very difficult to beat. If the weather was better I would have had a trolley full.There is a good restaurant and all the normal things sold at garden centres but with a bit more ,. The small shops well worth a lookA good experience to visitI

Nice little farm to spend a few hours with the children. My two (6 & 8) love it here and can quite happily spend the morning feeding and petting the animals. The site used to be a little muddy but they have now paved the walkways so no coming back to the car caked in mud either. Plenty of free parking at the garden centre and also a nice tea room that serves food. Animals all have plenty of space to roam and appear well cared for. Would certainly recommend a visit

Absolutely wonderful afternoon, the staff were fantastic, especially Freya & Mark on the petting farm, Freya knew everything about the animals and all their names, she showed so much care for everyone of them, even answering a ladies question about a horse.We were very impressed.We followed up by having a meal in the restaurant and Katie greeted us at the door and was very chatty, which was lovely, It was so well organised as there was a small queue, but it took less than 5 mins ,the meal was lovely, very filling and hot, the chips are scrumptious.In the garden centre, Karen helped us with a question about pot saucers, and even checked books to see if they could order. It's not very often you get fantastic customer service like we did today.Thank you White Elm, highly recommended and we will be back.Great staff and even better customer service.
