My wife and I both are both vegetarian and this is hands down, the best and most accommodating Chinese restaurant we have ever ordered from. We have been getting takeaway from them for months and plan to continue for good! Fresh ingredients and always delicious.

Enjoyed a lunchtime meal at the China Chef from the set menu. They had a reasonable selection of choices and the meal was really very good. Excellent value.

We've been dining at China Chef (both inside the restaurant and through the order collection option) for years and they are always amazing. We never had any issues with this wonderful family-run place. Great customer service, excellent quality of all dishes. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in Colchester (and we've probably tried them all to compare!).

Good food, pretty decent service. Slightly expensive for what it is. Beware of getting a parking ticket when you park outside. The traffic wardens are pretty zealous and the restaurant doesn’t warn customers to the extent it probably should do…..

Lovely staff and delicious food. Noticed they aren't heavy handed with food colouring (red sweet and sour) which is good, and food was piping hot when served. I'd recommend this place definitely

What a lovely restaurant. The service is friendly, a warm welcome and free cloak room service. I had doubts add to whether the children would eat much, however they certainly had their fill.The food, reasonably priced, is delicious. We had squid (not too spicy at all) which was so tender, not all chewy, as well as capital ribs. They were tasty and sweet. We also had duck, which was shredded at the table side - a nice touch.For our main, the rice was excellent - zero clumping, the noodles tasty and the chicken balls... oh my. The batter melts in your mouth.Certainly deserves the reputation it has - week done!

Other Chinese restaurants should bow their heads. Hard to get a table as so popular and quite right to. Lots of attentive staff. Food comes out rapidly and is of the absolute top quality. Not a humble Chinese

A classy Chinese restaurant run by an experienced team. Food served here are delicious and the standard are excellent. Like the ambiance of the place and service is good too. Highly recommended and will visit again.
