China One in Colchester

This place is a joke I’ve been going for over 3 years and I understand thing happen but big wait for food 5 times I have ordered to pick up 20 mins and had to wait for over 1 hour after standing in front of them to get it sorted2nd problem is that you order a delivery at 6pm and at 8pm still no order has turned up and being told that the driver is on his way.. this is not a one off for me but sometimes you have Enough.Such a shame as the food is lovely but not worth the hassle..give it a miss

DO NOT USE. DOUBLE PAYMENT TAKEN DUE TO THEIR ERROR AND NO REFUND OFFERED.Placed an order with two friends via the restaurant's website on New Year's Eve. The website was having difficulties due to the number of orders having been placed, which the restaurant was clearly unable to handle. As a result of those glitches, the first time we attempted payment, it failed and payment was not confirmed. We therefore adjusted the order and attempted payment again. This one was supposedly successful.Upon receiving our food, we realised the order was wrong and therefore called the restaurant. We were told that both orders had gone through and that it was due to a glitch. We had received the first one which we understood had failed. They said they couldn't cancel the second order because it had already been sent out but said we wouldn't be charged for both. The only charge taken at the time was for the adjusted order and not the supposedly failed order.The next day, I checked my account and noticed that my account had been charged twice. I called the restaurant again and explained the circumstances but was told I needed to wait for one of their members of staff to wake up to contact me as they dealt with us the day before. The restaurant contacted me later that day and the caller said he recalled speaking to us the day before about the order, understood the issue and said that two orders going through wasn't unusual and that it had happened before. He also suggested the glitch online was a result of the sheer number of orders placed on New Year. I was told he would speak to his manager to authorise a refund.The next day, I was contacted again but the advisor said the manager would not agree to a refund as the food had been cooked and sent to us and they had paid the admin fee for the online payment. I said this was unacceptable on the basis the issue was a clear fault on their website, as a result of their inability to deal with a large number of orders. I reminded him that he had agreed with this the day before and he then tried to back track and effectively said that he had not told me that.I have asked to speak to the manager in charge and will expect a full refund and apology. We ordered 3 regular meals and have now been charged over £66, which is wholly unacceptable.If a refund is received, I will update this review. Otherwise, it will remain as it is and I will take matters further.Absolutely appalling service thus far and the sheer inability for the restaurant to stand by their mistake and apologise is atrocious and, quite frankly, embarrassing.

Terrible customer service and ordering system. Rude staff who are intially friendly as they want their money.Ordered on the website, our order was put through twice due to the website being busy and in their words 'glitchy'. Initially on the phone they reassured us they would not take both payments. Even offered us a 20% discount on a next order.The next day they took both payments. They denied everything they had said the previous evening and refused to refund us.

Best Chinese food in the whole of Colchester. I've tried them all.

Ordered a meal online paid via debit card .. the food was delivered on time.. 3 hours later I get a phone call to say we hadn't paid ! We had it was on our online bank statement. Was rudely told to email proof which we did to then get another call to say we hadn't paid the right person?? Well we ordered from your website you delivered the food so we obviously did order from your restraunt and paid yoir restaurant otherwise you wouldn't of delivered the food .. horrid takeaway very rude staff would never ever order from them again. And the food was horrid wish we hadn't paid 😕

Terrible experience. The man on the phone got irritated when I asked him politely not to add an ingredient to the dishes and he raised his voice and talked as though it was my fault asking that, extremely rude indeed. Learn how to talk to the local public, otherwise, there's absolutely no point being on the job. Food arrived, and that ingredient was in all of the dishes and was greasy and very salty. I won't be ordering from there again, I do NOT recommend at all.

Before I gave a 5 star review and enjoyed my Friday treat but today the gentleman, when placing my order I couldn't hear and he starting shouting at me being very rude. Won't be returning and I won't be recommending to anyone again.

Used to use them, no more as they allow their delivery drivers & customers to drive & park on the pavement & won't do a sodding thing to stop it & use their car park! It is now no longer safe to walk there anymore & shows their hatred to those who don't drive.

First time ordering and also the last. Very rude on the phone, zero customer service skills and tried to overcharge. Cheap ingredients and salty had to drink lots of water after. Nothing special, below average fake Chinese food so don’t expect too much. I would not recommend

Absolutely lovely food and service.I have ordered here a couple of times and its always hot fresh and delivered in a good time.Shame you dont open tuesdays as i had to order from somewhere else last night which was awful. Please open 7 days a week!Very reasonably priced and lovely staff, worth the money all day long!
