This place has been reopened and money earnt is given to helping the homeless.Vic is doing a good job making Coffees, sandwiches, jacket potatoes to fund the new double decker bus providing shelter for homeless people in Colchester.Part of the Cafe houses a museum with remains of the Claudius Gateway!

Fantastic cream tea and a strong but smooth coffee. Really really good price. A good pick me up befor shopping. Amazing Roman ruins on display so a great place to bring visitors

Large cafe just across from Castle Museum. Tea, coffee, cakes & simple meals. Also contains remains of foundations of Claudian Gateway & Portico. Also large screens and displays showing interpretation of buildings. Very pleasant young man serving too. Well recommended.
