Fillpots in Colchester

Came with a friend because we loooove looking around a good garden centre! When you first walk in, you're greeted with a tiny little houseplant section. Not a problem, only that the houseplants that were there looked very dire, with most of them shedding leaves and looking half-dead, which was a bit disappointing. The plants outside were definitely better, but still lacking. Didn't go to the coffee shop, so can't speak on that - we left and went somewhere else!

You don't have to be a gardener or an enthusiastic plant grower to enjoy this beautiful place. Filpots is an experience with the possibility to shop attached. I enjoy every single time when I visit Filpots and I end up buying something nice, cute, posh without any relation with gardening....

Went to the cafe for a quick breakfast. Won’t be doing that again. The cutlery looks like it’s never been cleaned, the staff are rude and the prices are ridiculous.

Had a lovely cup of tea & slice of cake with a friend. Looked at all the plants & gifts; definitely spoilt for choice if you need a gift . I asked for advice on Passion Flowers & a lovely gentleman was so helpful, took me to the ones in stock & gave very experience advice.

I have been to Fillpots a couple of times but my experience yesterday was extremely disappointing. I went to the cafe first hoping to get a quick cup of coffee - the price of which was nearly £3! I discovered that said coffee was out of a machine and when I questioned this, the member of staff was extremely off-hand and told me it was a "matter of personal choice".I then went to look for a present for a friend and came away empty-handed as everything was so over-priced.I don't think I shall be returning in a hurry..

Some really lovely cards here for all events especially Christmas and Birthdays. Lovely gift bags and co-ordinated tissue paper. Lovely hats and special gifts really appreciate the effort they are going to . So much more than just plants and very welcome over that side of town where there is no other option. Well Done Fillpots!

We have been having breakfast at fillpots cafe every Saturday for the past 6 years.The food is great and sourced from the local butcher who has a good reputation.The big breakfast doesn't look big but always catches me out.Will always recommend

We visited here for breakfast and were very impressed with not only the service but also the food.The place is very well presented and clean.The garden centre is great and we bought a massive cactus plant, hopefully the wife won’t kill it.Thanks for a great meal.M&L

My first visit to Fillpots Nursey today. We went for a bite to eat and a look around. The restaurant looks like a new edition and is a wonderful airy space to eat, the breakfast I had was very good. Good coffee!We had a look around the extensive garden centre as well. I need more time for the next visit.Well worth a visit with plenty of parking.

A great place to meet and chill out. The garden centre is nicely displayed with a variety of garden plants, shrubs and trees on display. The cafe is a really a great added bonus. The food choice is varied and of good quality. The ambience is really good too. Some of the young staff unfortunately, would benefit from people training. They are brusque and with attitude. Such a shame to spoil a lovely day out.
