H Gunton in Colchester

Guntons was lovely. The staff were very helpful and my kitchen now has the gorgeous aroma of freshly ground coffee.

Traditional family deli which is a Colchester institution. As it is an old building the aisles are narrow so it can feel crowded at times. You can find most things there, from chutneys and honey to all sorts of dried lentils and beans plus many types of flour and grains. The cheese counter is excellent, as is the freshly ground coffee you can purchase. Hampers can also be made up as gifts. A real independant store

Poor customer service, was made to feel very unwelcome today. Staff too busy chatting about their new years plans to serve me. When asking about a product the staff member proclaimed "oh Jesus Christ" as you can imagine I did not continue with my purchase. And found what I was looking for elsewhere. As I will continue to do so from now on! Only wished I had not brought item's from this establishment prior to Christmas.

The best old style grocer/delicatessen for miles around. Never close!

Found the website via Google when searching for Wicklein Lebkuchen (if you know, you know) which has been all but impossible to find at anything other than extortionate prices since brexit. Ordered two packs at a wonderfully reasonable price, (postage was more than fair also) and two days later they arrived, packed very carefully.Absolutely thrilled. You've made my Christmas!

Wonderful delicatessen, great place to get cheese 🧀 and a good selection of other goodies. Will be going back.

Gunton’s service ha always been to the highest standard. We always buy our coffee from here. They were even kind enough to send us a replacement batch of coffee when Royal Mail lost our order.Cannot recommend them highly enough.Chris.

What a wonderful store full of amazing products! Beautiful selection of coffees and teas, jams, pickles, pastries and fancy goods. Might have to return soon!

Shelves piled high with treats, heaven where ever you look, very reasonably priced item, most polite staff ever and a very short wait to get in. I could not believe it especially as it was only a few days to Christmas. I will definitely be going back for a longer shop real soon. I loved it😍

Just one of those precious, special places where you can spend hours looking and buying. Great shop, fantastic stuff, and a place you wouldn't want to miss even if it was just during your daily walk. Nice coffee and sandwiches.
