Hotel Chocolat in Colchester

Someone needs to check on the staff making ice cream here today: they are not okay.Queue was 5 deep for pitifully poorly made ice creams from a machine that were taking so long they were melting by the time they were handed over, and the poor girl was deciding to stop and clean the counter before serving the next customer.Perhaps more training and more staff on a sunny day would be useful?

Visited to try one of their hot chocolates, highly recommend, excellent taste, velvet texture, so worth it!

Staff are always friendly and helpful. We normally go in to sit and enjoy one of their amazing hot chocolates. It is a lovely place to sit. Have always felt welcome with my son. The staff were always supportive when I was breastfeeding and chat to my son now that he is older.

Lovely window display, so tempting! They do lovely Hot Chocolate, especially welcome at this time of Year and yummy Chocolates.

The chocolate is without doubt very tasty indeed but in my honest opinion it's rather overpriced. The staff are polite and professional and the range considering it's basically all chocolate is varied and eye catching too.

First visit to hotel Chocolat and couldn’t be more impressed. Jacky was so kind and caring and took so much time in helping us, even made us drinks so we could try the hot chocolate before buying. We bought the drinks maker and couldn’t recommend it enough. Thanks again!

Brilliant experience yesterday. Went in to buy a gift, Jackie was extremely helpful in not only finding the right thing but the perfect accompaniments too. She even helped me to get discount on my purchase! Really impressed and will definitely be back 😀

This has been a great safe haven for us at lunchtime, we would have a choco shake , and the staff are extremely nice! would visit again and again! the products are very nicely laid out and easy to move around. its a shame there are not as many dark chocolate variants in the range

I went in to buy a nice classy chocolate gift and discovered it has a really nice coffee shop too. So I had a latte and thoroughly enjoyed not only the drink but the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service.
