The best oysters I have ever eaten in UK. So juicy, fresh and delicious. But it can’t take away. And we also ordered a Cod fish take away. Even we drive back to the place we stay in East Mersea, it still tasted crunchy and delicious. And the size is so big. It is worth to eat when you are staying in Mersea even the shop is not next to the beach. One of the best thing I like is they close at 7:30pm. Most of the shop close so early. It’s not easy to find some places for buying food at the evening in Mersea.

The Cod Fish and oysters are super delicious, it is the best cod fish I ever have.

Really nice food and very friendly, helpful staff. Great that they offer gluten free batter too although be warned the sausages aren't gluten free. Very generous children's fish portions, lovely crisp batter and the complimentary tartar sauce is a nice touch. We'll definitely be back.

Absolutely perfect Rock, cod and chips. The best fish and chips I've had. Batter on the fish was spot on, not greasy or floppy like some other chip shops. Nice, polite and happy staff. Clean premises.Everything perfect!

I love fish and chips, and this was the best I've ever had from a takeaway. The fish had beautiful light batter, and was translucent, flaky and delicious. Great chips too. Excellent.

We regularly order dinner from this great fish and chip shop, never been let down. Good portion sizes of delicious fish, alway good service and quickly cooked.

I have been to many chippies across the UK and this was one of the most disappointing.I looked forward to getting chips all day after our long walk along the beach. The chips weren’t tasty and were overly oily and crispy. I personally don’t think chippy chips should be crispy?I asked for lots and salt and vinegar and the message didn’t get passed on as there were 8 people working in there at that moment.

The food is great and so is the staff

It was biggest fries portion ever. Literally we had large to share and 2 of us could not finish 1 portion. Even if we have been pretty hungry. Not expensive, however, it's very simple and basic. Outdated tables and need some decorating throughout. No mirror in the toilet. Customer service was good and quick. Food could be better quality.

Visiting Mersea for the first time, came to the fish bar after a walk along the beach. The staff were great, haddock and skate were fantastic, chips were great too along with some curry sauce. Highly recommend this place, thank you Mersea Island fish bar
