Miller & Carter in Colchester

Truly excellent. Came here for my partners graduation meal and they managed to accommodate all 7 of us. The steaks were magnificent and our server was absolutely exceptional. On his dessert (he ordered the ice cream) they wrote “Happy Graduation!” In chocolate sauce on the serving plate. Little touches like this made this dinner wonderful - thank you so much!

Genuinely the nicest meal I've ever had. We came for the Valentine's Day menu and were not disappointed: the steak was delightful and we ended up falling in love with the Camembert mash. The wait for the cheque was a bit long but I'd chalk that up to the staff being run off their feet, as it was incredibly busy.Absolutely recommend this place. Only down side is that we were so full afterwards and had to take a nap!

Fantastic meal. Steaks weren't cooked as requested initially but the waiter ensured this was corrected as quickly as possible and was very apologetic, not his fault. Once corrected the meal was lovely.

Really nice dinner out, staff were great, decor was clean well planned out, seating was a mix of deep set comfy chairs and booths, whole place had a lively atmosphere which was comfortable and great for chilling and people watching. Meal itself was really good paid a bit extra for the rib eye and wasn't disappointed, the onion loaf was a delightful surprise which I very much enjoyed, pudding was nice opted for the sticky toffee pudding more of a tray bake with sauce on top but still good and would definitely go again.

First time visit....and it didn't disappoint. We had the January three course set menu, and everything was delicious. Our server Allison was brilliant. The atmosphere was good and wait time between courses was perfect.

Food and service were faultless! They were more than happy to move us as we were originally sat quite close to the kitchen which was a little noisy. Also able to change the Christmas lights above us to static as they were flashing quite fast and I suffer from migraines. Our waiter Ryan was absolutely lovely from start to finish and can't fault his service one bit. My steak, 8oz rare fillet was cooked perfectly, as was my partner's. We will definitely be returning again soon!

The food here is always amazing.The service is excellent and the restaurant is very clean and well presented.The staff are always accommodating and can’t do enough to make your visit special.One again, my go to is either the Chateaubriand or Cote De Boeuf. The wife had the 50 day aged Ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection and accompanied by their killer onion loaf and mind blowing beef dripping sauce.Todays visit was our Wedding Anniversary and the Wife’s Birthday and our server didn’t disappoint with celebratory desserts.Visiting Miller & Carter isn’t just for celebrations but the free bubbly and personalised dishes make such occasions extra special.Thanks again M&C.See you again soon.

I had never been here, wanted to go but just hadn't got round to it and it's always so booked up, popular place. I had read and been told mixed things so was excited but also anxious to try for myself. I can happily say, I loved my experience here. Scott B who took our order etc from the start made it a friendly but professional environment, he was brilliant. Its a busy place, so yes was quite warm in there and a tad noisy but that's to be expected when it's busy. Our wait for food was pretty quick considering and it was worth the wait. The steak was yummy. Cooked perfectly to how I ordered and how I like it. We had puddings too, Eton mess and creme brulee. Both equally good too. Had a lovely evening. Thanks guys. 😊

Food and service good. I enjoyed my meal but other people at the table had onion loaf with their meals and were disappointed. Compared to previous times when they've had them they were a bit dry and over crisp. My scallops were absolutely gorgeous and my salad was fresh. Could have done with a bit more avocado though. Our server was so helpful. Young blonde lad: really polite and friendly but not pushy.
