Two disappointing meals from here. Served Rockill instead of cod and then when it was brought to thier attention that I purchased a large it was replaced with a small, I was not aware of this until I got home. Portion sizes are more based on kids meals imo.

Fish was very tasty and good serving portions, I highly recommend!!

Over priced .chips were disgusting, they were like rubber, as if they had been over cooked or been left sitting for a long time .ÂŁ26 for 2x cod and chips and 1x savaloy and chips is very over priced

·

Only drawback is they still only take cash. Not a real problem unless the ATM at the Co-op is not working. This gets really busy on a Friday tea time but other evenings it is not so busy. At less busy times you may need to wait for fish to be cooked but 5-7pm usually OK.

They need to understand that over a tenner for large fish n chips and 2 pounds odd for a savaloy means it needs to be outstanding everytime they serve it, I live less than 5 minutes walk and rarely use it due to high prices for medioka food

The cod was near cold, batter soggy and several bones, battered sausage was soggy and coldThe chips were quite tasty but near cold.Fish and chips aren’t a cheap takeaway anymore so this was very disappointing and a waste of money. A shame there isn’t another chip shop near by.

As a fan of battered burgers I was pleased to find that, not only do they serve them, but that they were ÂŁ1.25 each - so I had two (with chips; I'm not a savage!).Very handy to grab a quick bite before attending a match at the nearby Jobserve Community Stadium (Colchester Utd.).

Friendly local chippie with delicious chips, generous portions. Clean, great service, never seems to be a huge queue or a very long wait. Highly recommend.

Best chicken nuggets I've had from a fish and chip shop and my wife really enjoyed her cod. Chips were fresh and sensible portion size too.

Well, it’s a nice place, staff is friendly and helpful, but the food was 7/10. The fish itself is very good, but the breading has a bit too much oil, and chips are a bit bitter, I guess that’s because they use the same oil over and over again. I don’t regret going there, it’s just that I did not enjoy the food as much as I expected based on reviews.
