Princess Charlotte in Colchester

Turned up as a walk in around 6pm Sunday, seated straight away. The atmosphere was busy but not loud and staff still very attentive and friendly. Great all round and reasonably priced, my partner and I ordered 3 desserts as we couldn't decide! :)

This place must be under new ownership or something because I genuinely cannot understand how it has so many good reviews after today's shocking visit.Took too long to bring out foodFailed to note plate was hotSteak was undercooked and vegan steak was looking like a microwave meal.Waiter was fine to me but rude to wife who was with my child.Wont be eating there again that's for sure.

We have often driven past this venue and kept saying one day we will go, yesterday was that day. There were 8 if us and the visit was handled with ease, a total of around 2 hours in total. Venue was easy to park and welcoming, the table wasn't ready but was within a few minutes, staff were all friendly and super efficient. Food was cooked perfectly and has, for us, one of the best selections of deserts for ages, pricing was average.The venue was clean and tidy throughout, floors clear from previous guests falling food.The only slight criticism would that it was very loud and we sometimes had trouble hearing the waitress.We would definitely recommend this place for quality, price and ease of parking.

Popped in for some low key lunch and wasn't disappointed! The building itself is quite large, with a lovely decor inside that mixes old with new in a very successful way. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Apparently the gravy in a cute gravy boat (part of children's menu) is as good as school dinner's gravy according to our daughter, and she absolutely loved it. It was really delicious, and I couldn't resist pouring it over my rotisserie chicken 😋! The dessert came on a very pretty plate, and it was enough for two. We will be back.Update :The chicken platter and banana Twix sundae we ordered didn't disappoint!

Great service! Was served by a lovely lady called Rachel who was super accommodating, friendly and went out her way to make sure we had an amazing experience! Food was great, hot, came out quick and really tasty! Would give 6 stars if they did Blue Light Discount but still one of our favourite places to go and very reasonably priced

Not a bad place - would give the server 5 stars, she engaged with our party very well. Unfortunately the food was OK but not brilliant, the fries were average but there didn't seem to be a great range of dishes if you don't like fried food. Might consider visiting again but not too soon.

A fantastic visit after a long cold day at the zoo! I honestly can't fault them - the meals were all delicious, the waitress was very friendly (and great with children) and the atmosphere was wonderful. Great way to end the weekend in Colchester.

We came here for lunch on a very windy Monday, a little after 12.00am. It was warm and cosy inside and ordering and service was very efficient and friendly. We both enjoyed our pint as well as, in my case, fish and chips, and steak pie for my brother. Prices were much as I would have expected for this type of establishment. I can't fault the place and I think most people would be happy to bring friends here.

It was good. The food was good, however two of the meals had an issue with the chicken but the management sorted it at the end. The service was fast and staff were good. The place was clean and tidy and décor was nice. Overall it was good.

Firsy time visiting this pub. Lovely service, the team seemed really enthusiastic and enjoyed what they were doing! Good service even when was busy. Delicious food and lovely cocktails 😋Server was incredibly friendly! Will definitely recommend
