The Company Shed in Colchester

Excellent bubblu service with a smile, authentic experience and top notch seafood with quick service.It is extremely rustic, so wear warm clothes in winter.Only thing for improvement was the smell of bleach from cleaning the floors - good to know it's clean, but a scented one would be better!

we visited in summer 2021 and had some wonderful take away food. returned February 2022 to dine in and our experience was mediocre at best. small oysters, average crevettes and prawns, the tuna burger was overcooked. at 12:45pm they had already run out of any crab or lobsters. the only positives were the smoked mackerel and grilled oysters, but not worth the trip from London. also, we chose not to bring our own bread and wine (it felt cheap to do, even if their website said it was ok) but that was a big mistake too (they both were very poor quality). service was welcoming and friendly.

Quiet today but it was quite early. Freshest ingredients is what it's about. Quite a price difference between eat in and take away, so I opted for take away crab cakes, which were crispy and yummy. Not a 'posh' place but good, honest seafood.

I had the best vegetarian lasagna I have ever eaten. I had it to takeaway from the company shed, along with a fish pie for my partner after a busy day at work, it was delicious and so nice being able to just sit down at home with some amazing food that I haven't had to cook.!! I wish I could have one every night! Will definantly be having more of them again 👍📲

6 of us had a tasty meal here last Saturday, the jumbo prawns were especially delicious. The dressed crab and scallops were also a favourite.Unfortunately the 5 of us which ate oysters all came down with very nasty food poisoning afterwards which understandably wrecked the whole experience for us! We have been ill for the last few days.I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt by assuming you just received a dodgy batch of oysters. I suggest you take this up with your supplier.I would however, still return for the prawns, as they were very tasty.

Went for breakfast today, hands down the best seafood I've ever had, the sea salt and garlic mayo is amazing and the prawns so easy to peel. The staff were welcoming and accommodating and food was served in good time. Will definitely be back!x

Wow! We visited The Company Shed on a recommendation and we were very impressed. We had the Crab platter, garlic grilled lobster, tiger prawns, scallops and oysters. What a treat! We will definitely be returning :)

Lots of hype and was really excited to go but upon arrival, customer service wasn't that great and although the platters were nice, they weren't hugely impressive. The prawns were a bit tasteless and the crab was good although they didn't supply anything to break the crab with so had to waste a lot. The mackerel was delicious as was the rollmops. It was really expensive for what was on offer so we probably won't be returning.

Visiting Mersea for the weekend and was real excited to try the Company Shed. Happy to say that everything we'd read is true, the food is amazing. High quality seafood cooked with love. We ordered a lot of food for takeaway which cost about the same as a Nandos but was much more special. Ordered around 8:30 on a Friday evening and there was no queue, went for a little walk along the shore and picked up our food on return so the whole process was easy. The staff were also helpful, friendly and welcoming. Everything was delicious but we especially loved the tiger prawns and grilled oysters. This place is a real gem!

Rode to The Company Shed from London just to try the seafood as they have excellent reviews. Pleased to say they 100% deserve 5star rating as someone complained about their prices i have to say you get what you pay for and in my opinion worth the price. Staff are very nice too. One other biker i met there rode from Folkestone to try this place that to me sais it all. Keep up the good work guys and see you next week
