Lovely place to eat out with the family. Food was lovely and service was good. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Will definitely go back. Only criticism was they brought one of my daughters food out early but not my other daughters so she had to wait .

Welcoming and friendly.Good prices . Decent sized portioned meals. Great selection of traditional and vegetarian options. Excellent service especially from Tab who was serving our table. Tab was very helpful with drinks and meal choices that I had not had before. The violet Gin and lemonade and the baked camberet were out of this world. Violet gin is a favourite I always ask for now when dining out. To date no other baked Camberet tops the one that I ate at the Crown. The main course and dessert were just as good. Definitely definitely recommend the Crown A very added plus of the pub being warm from the lovely burning open fire.Planning to go back very soon.

Our second visit to this fantastic country pub. We hadn't been here since summer 2021. A last minute booking via phone, the manager managed to find us a table with no trouble at all. From the moment we arrived, we instantly felt welcome. Open fire on a miserable cold day was a welcome sight, the ambience couldn't of been any better. We decided to have three courses one which a traditional Sunday roast, unfortunately the trio of meat was not available. The Sirlion of beef roast however was no disappointment. The food was cooked to perfection, and desert was a nice way to finish a lovely meal. All rhe team were friendly we left feeling well looked after and will certainly be returning. Keep up the good work.

Me and all my family had a fantastic meal out tonight. There was 10 of us. The food and staff were just brilliant. We will definitely be going back there again in the near future!

I had a lovely meal here just before xmas so I was looking forward to going again, but ended up disappointed. I had the chicken pie, which was amazing but the mixed veg that came with it, the biggest part being broccoli, was not cooked properly. I don't mind my broccoli a bit under-done but I couldn't get a knife into the stalks, it was pretty much raw and inedible. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, with custard that was only just lukewarm when it arrived and completely cold before I had finished eating it. Such a shame because the pudding was delicious but it was ruined by the cold custard. I mentioned it to the waitress, who just smiled, nodded and took our plates away.

Booked four of us for an early valentine's on Sunday the 6th for 1715. We were welcomed and shown to our seats. The waiter gave us our menus, but then proceeded telling us that this that and the other was no longer available... limiting our choices greatly. I was told, it had been very busy and the kitchen closes at 1800. But neither are your customers fault. This really infuriates me, and although I understand it had been busy, surely this must happen regularly and later bookings such as ours, I would suspect are told the same story each week? surely records should be kept about previous shortfalls to ensure this doesn't happen regularly?I must say we were all disappointed to say the least. What we did choose however was very nice. If I were to use the crown again, it definitely wouldn't be late afternoon.

We use this venue a lot for family lunches. This visit was for my Dad’s birthday and the first time we had all got together for two years.I needed a table for 10. I completed the group booking form three times, but didn’t hear anything back. As the date was getting closer I booked two tables and wrote notes that we wanted on larger table. I also called and explained the situation three days before. On the day when we arrived there was no message passed on, so we had to explain it all again and wait around while tables were moved together. Our waitress was new, but lovely. She left after our main courses and we were completely forgotten about. We had to go to the bar to ask for drinks and desserts and then chase the desserts. We also had to ask for the bill several times and again we then went and paid at the bar. Would these things stop us coming back? No, but it did put a bit of a dampener on a special occasion.

I had dinner here in with my two children a few months ago, the food was nice and the staff polite and responsive.Unfortunately later that week I received a parking fine through the post!I emailed the crown for help, I had entered my registration in to their tablet on the day and was a paying customer. I did not receive any response from them, resulting in me needing to pay the fine. The dinner was defiantly not worth £130.It is disgraceful that the crown use such parking companies such as euro car parks to manage their car park. I wonder what share of the profit they will receive!

Decent place to visit for a drink or good, always good food and value to go with it. It can be a very busy place, so worth booking in advance. Only draw back seems to be they run this pub on minimal staff and have done for years as it never changes and only reason it doesn't get 5 stars.

We had fabulous meals I would recommend the pork or Hunter chicken. If you like a chocolate dessert try the chocolate flower pot with edible flowers. It was so beautiful and delicious.
