The Granary Restaurant in Colchester

Me and wife had breakfast here. Possibly the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth and I used to be a rent boy..

We had the breakfast and omg the large full English was big and tasty the scrambled egg on toast was very tasty as well and well worth the money will be going again

The mixed grill was 1st class l couldn't finish it and l can eat...will come back midweek excellent service

Evening meal was very pleasant, only drawback and having to book which we hadn't expected so had an hours wait for a table. Breakfast was excellent value for money.

Update:Took my daughter for a breakfast. She has a nut allergy. They were very unhelpful and said all their food may contain nuts and did not want to serve her.I understand the caution but this is a holiday resort and they must have an influx of children with food allergies. I also can't understand why eggs and bacon could contain nuts. Surely when sourcing products it would be beneficial for the chef to buy produce more carefully.

Lovely place. Had a roast beef dinner which comes in three sizes!! Staff very friendly and helpful. The service was 10/10. Will definitely be back.

Really pleased we finally booked and had a meal here. Friendly staff, delicious food and plenty of it. A good choice and very well priced. The wine choice was good too. Will definitely go again. We had the normal sized Sunday roast. Very good roast potatoes, cauli cheese, cabbage, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire, loads of meat and good gravy.
