Perfect dog friendly country pub with a good selection of real ales. Friendly staff and well produced food at reasonable prices. Large garden area and outside marquee

Excellent food and service for a party, very few venues accommodate a large party, so thank you to all the staff for making it a great celebration

Walked in the morning and came back here for a light lunch. Used the bar which was quite quiet with a few regulars. Nice wood burner stove. There seemed to be more people in the restaurant. Beer was good and we had baguettes which came very well filled, with a small salad and fries. The food was very good and the portion size made it good value for money. Would be happy to go back again.

Had called in for directions while house hunting under lockdown, then it was good to see someone using there brain and had set up loads of tables and chairs on the grass area out front and doing takeaway, was really busy.Today went back for lunch, some months later, still busy, mainly locals I would think all enjoying a pint.We sat in a small snug area out the way as had sons dog with us. Service with a smile (makes a change nowadays).Young girl bought out menus and took drink orders, both had liver and bacon which was very nice and cooked well, only downside for me was served with pea's, not my first choice as a vegetable.Young girl serving us was friendly and efficient with a constant smile. We will be going back and recommend, give it a try.

Good food with small or large portions available. Lovely ale. They care about their customers. Sat outside which was lovely. Can't comment much on the inside other than toilets could be larger/ reconfigured.

We had 4x starters, Fish & Chips, Rump Steak, 16oz burger and Beef Bourguignon, excellent generous tasty portions with exception of the 16oz burger which was a little underwhelming (seemed more like 2x 4oz portions and the bun was a little stale) hence 1* deduction. The setting, ambience and service was perfect and I was impressed that they accept Amex cards. The menu was very good, prices reasonable and we certainly will be returning to this quaint pub but will avoid the burger next visit.Highly recommended.

We have just had Sunday lunch at this pub. Although the food was lovely it was Luke warm, some of our party had finished their desserts before the others arrived. The waitress apologized and said she would take the final three desserts off our bill. This wasn't the point as we wanted them at the same time. The waitress also got the drinks order incorrect as one person had asked for no ice and lemon in their drink , but got it served in their drink. There was no vegetarian options available. The final point was that the waitress didn't ask if we had any food allergies. I also believe that it should be our choice whether we give a tip, it shouldn't be included in the bill.

Me and a couple of friends went to this lovely pub for an evening meal tonight. All 3 of us were extremely impressed with both the food and service. We sat in the garden room, which was very well done, with a large heater and ambient fairly lights making a really nice, relaxed atmosphere - regardless of the cold outside temp!Really nice welcoming atmosphere from the staff, we really recommend this pub to anyone.
