Every neighbourhood needs a good fish and chip shop and I’m very glad to be able to report that we finally have one! Excellent fresh fish at a reasonable price with all the extras you need. Parking is a bit of a pain but there’s plenty of space on the side roads near Wickes.

Been to this new shop this afternoon to try it. I can gladly say that the fish is of utmost standards. Fresh, flaky, lightly battered, flavourful, and beautifully cooked! The chips are also fresh and nice. The fish is nicely packaged in the box to keep fresh. If you ever get the chance to try it, or is craving fish and chips, this is the new place to go. MUST try. Will be back. Wishing this shop all the success

So the fish was lovely, really enjoyed the very light batter. Chip portion size was terrible. We'd planned to share a large and the portion was easily smaller than any other chip shop's regular........oh and there was a hair in them too....Lovely

Amazing fish and chips, the fish batter was the lightest I’ve ever tasted ! And the chips were crispy ! Curry sauce had good flavour Highly recommend !

Great new business. Freshly cooked food which is also delicious. The fish is sold in cardboard boxes which ensures the batter remains perfect. Well worth a visit.

My partner and I went here on opening night to try it out and it was fantastic. The fish was fresh and cooked to order while you wait, great knowing the fish hasn’t sat for ages and we could really notice the difference! They serve the fish in a cardboard box which meant once we got it home it the fish was soft and flaky and the batter was still super crispy and not stuck to the chip paper. The chips were really fluffy too and nothing was oily. Overall we agreed it was one of the best fish and chips we’ve had, highly recommend!

Amazing fish and chips, would highly recommend!! Our fish was cooked fresh while we waited and was so flaky and yummy. The batter was second to none and I loved that it was still crispy when we got home, unlike a lot of places where the batter goes soggy! Chips were lovely, fluffy and not oily.Portion sizes were great too, 2 of us shared the large chips and we couldn’t finish them all!

Visited here on their opening evening, brilliant business setting the standard for fresh fish and chips. Fish was served in its own cardboard box with a slice of lemon and tartare sauce which I thought was a nice touch. Will definitely be using them again.

My family and I ordered fish and chips on the opening evening. The food was so delicious and was freshly cooked in front of me! Will definitely be coming back again soon.

Excellent Fish and Chips. This type of quality has been missing from Colchester for too long. Perfectly light and crispy batter and really tasty chips. I will be a regular user of The Norfolk ! Highly recommended.
