Had a very good lunch. Sat at a table outside the front of the pub in the sun. Very friendly staff. Good real ale. Car park at rear of pub plus on road parking in the village

Visited Saturday 19th March 2022.We frequented The Old Crown for many years. We have previously always enjoyed our visit. This is the first time back since Covid arrived. We enjoyed our food but the service was shocking. We counted 4 front of house staff but other than taking our order and delivering it no one was paying attention to the tables in the restaurant. I had to leave my table in the restaurant and go to the bar to order bottles of wine. Your staff need to stop chatting in the back and spend some time attending to customers. We want to support you but we were very disappointed with the lack of service on this occasion.

Absolutely loved coming here today with mum and dig for lunch staff are so lovely and friendly even my dog got a couple of treats and the food is delicious melted in my mouth will definitely be coming back in the future 😀

We seem to have a very good amount of great pubs and restaurants within a few miles of home, and the Crown at Messing is definitely one. Good food and friendly staff. Should have had 5 stars but car park a little small although there is kerbside parking close by Cheers.

This is as a pub should be. Friendly service, a wonderfully welcoming interior and fantastic food. On a Monday lunchtime it was packed, which tells you enough. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Food absolutely delicious. Portion sizes just right. Parking can be tricky..tiny carpark at the back. Worth a visit. Pre book though!

Great little village pub with good food. The homemade rye bread was so good, we bought one home. There’s a little deli behind the pub selling local produce too.

Been in plenty of times for a pint on the way home and many many years ago for lunch whilst working nearby.The staff were very attentive and helpful and quite informative.They have an unmanned deli on site selling bread, condiments, cheese and quail's eggs too if you fancy.The food was good and I have to be honest it was better than I'd expected, not that I thought it would be bad I'm just saying it was better then I'd expected it to be.Service was plesant and polite but also informative.Overall I'd recommend it for pretty much all occasions.Pop in and have a look
