The Three Horseshoes in Colchester

We came as a family for lunch with our dog. All of us loved it, though our dog did not get to try the truly excellent food. Pleasant service, for me as the driver decent (very) low alcohol beer. We will return.

So pleased to be living in a village with a decent pub! Prices are on the dear side but the presentation and food are exquisite. Perfect for a fancy night out and lovely, cosy atmosphere.

Fine. Lovely food . Well cooked , nicely presented and pleasing to the eye. Wine and beer selection is on a par with the food. Staff and service are pleasant and professional.My one and only observation is the single door at the main entrance . A busy thoroughfare ( in and out and for the loos) The spring in the top door mech is faulty and consequently the door was slamming shut when used. We were seated at it !Slam,slam,slam,slam,slam,slam,slam!Not enough to put me off going again,but an area that I would ask not to sit at.

Great family owned gastro pub. Limited but imaginative menu, but with all meals prepared from scratch to order this is logical. Always well presented and cooked to a high standard. Superb service. We are now regulars here.

We called in here on a Thursday midday. The staff were fantastic, they found us a table and welcomed our dog. The service was friendly and first rate and our meals were stunning and beautifully presented.

Delicious meal and great atmosphere. Lovely personal touches. It was my birthday and they brought out a birthday desert. Xx

Gorgeous little pub. Staff are super friendly and helpful, food is tasty, good drink selection and lovely large garden in the back. Plus it’s dog friendly!

Had a lovely meal with my parents this evening at The Three Horseshoes. Outstanding service and food served to a high standard. We would highly recommend here for a meal out with family and friends.

While out on one of my recent walks, l had a very good take away lunch from this pub. I would recommend the marmite cheese twists and the rhubarb custard tarts.
