The White Hart in Colchester in Colchester

First time visit for a meal. Food and service first class and staff friendly. A very popular venue on a Saturday evening and would definitely recommend and will be back again very soon.Have been several times of late and during the week and reaffirmed my original review comments.

Enjoyed a superb family lunch at the White Hart yesterday. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. I can particularly recommend the pork belly and the beef rib end special. The staff were friendly and we were not in the least rushed. Thanks for making our family get together so enjoyable.

Love this pub. Good friendly atmosphere and the food is amazing. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Donna is my favourite. Always willing to go that extra mile.

Have lived in the village for about 15 years, and after a mediocre experience several years ago, had not returned. However kept hearing & seeing good reviews recently, and gave it another go. Wow, what a difference, all 3 of us had great food, my belly pork was superb, as was my mums steak, and wife's seafood platter. Generous portions, reasonably priced & lovely service. And it's on our doorstep. We will be back.

Booked a table for food at short notice on a Sunday afternoon, but were accommodated without any problems. Staff were friendly and helpful, good range of standard pub food including a very tasty burger with bacon, brie & chilli jam. Slightly limited but good quality beer selection, including a handful of guest keg & cask lines.

Had very nice meal, sea food platter was generously portioned, would be better with bread an butter instead of chips. Good service, friendly staff, play area too, too few pubs with this facility. Will be back very soon.

We called in on a busy Sunday lunchtime and while the inside of the pub was full we were able to have a table in the marquee. Very quick and friendly service to take our drink order and then our food order 👍 We had a Chicken Roast and a Lamb Roast with a variety of vegetables and both plates were hot and very tasty 👌 Lovely setting with great food and service. What more could you ask for. Maybe some sunshine ☺️ Well done to this team doing a marvellous job 👏👏

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and really good food.

Absolutely lovely setting. Turned up without a reservation on a Sunday and they managed to fit us in, 2 adults and 2 toddlers.The food was very nice indeed. Started with a mushroom and stilton starter which was amazingly good then we both had the roast and there was no complaints. The staff were very welcoming and polite.The pricing was reasonable I felt.We will definitely be back maybe when the weather's warmer as I want to have a drink in the garden 😉Edit:We've been a few more times since and it's lovely. Staff and owner are great and so's the service.

Our first visit to the White Hart and we were super impressed. All staff we came across were efficient and very friendly. They had all Covid measures in place which was refreshing to see, not all restaurants nail this so well. Portions were a bit on the large side but saying that we left plates clean, the food was delicious. Will definitely return and highly recommend. Thank you for having us.
