Toby Carvery in Colchester

A comforting enough Carvery. Seemed an efficient hot plate that kept even the serving spoons nicely warm on this occasion. Carver was pleasant & friendly upon my visit. You can certainly eat every morsel you put onto your plate here. Will be back although some of the waitresses seem more efficient than others working around them.

The food was great here and the staff was amazing. Had a fussy eater and the staff was so understanding and flexible and helped try to make it a comfortable experience for us. Massive thank you for working hard, being so kind and going over and beyond to look after your customers you all are amazing!

I have dined in the establishment a fair few times and I am happy to announce that I have never had a bad meal.Service is fast, effective and the food is always piping HOT!A friendly team of staff and they are always extremely knowledgeable and helpful.I can't fault this place at all and I look forward to my next visit already.Keep up the hard work

Was alright, took a while to be seen and carvery wasn’t the best I’ve had at a Toby but it was alright. Potatoes were good but the Yorkshire puddings were really crispy and no amount of gravy helped. Lots of vegetarian gravy though which was good as my loyal follower knows I am a veggie. The normal potatoes were fine but apparently the beef ones were apparently really good, best Toby ones they’ve had so far, however my boyfriend is very easily impressed 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Always my favourite place to eat. At least 4 choices of meat and 5 on a Sunday. Help yourself to as much vegetables and gravy as you like, toilets always clean and fresh and refillable soft drinks are great. Staff are so friendly and helpful on the phone and in the restaurant. Definitely worth the money for what you get and never room for a dessert. Not without exploding. Just been again today just as yummy !

The breakfast buffet though plentiful, was on the whole tepid to cold. Everything had been cooked, but the keep warm was nil. The bacon was plastic and the hash browns soggy. The coffee was cold. So I'd give it an ok at best.But the most amazing thing was the thick people who put their used tea bags into the new teabag jar, incredible how stupid some people can be !!!

Roast dinner. Long ques. No bacon with Brussels as advertised. Food not bad and to carvery expected standard. Staff nice. No masks worn by many, lots of kids and noise. Around £50 for two roasts, drinks and puddings. Nice not to have to wash up after.

The food was good, as you'd expect, however the meat choice was limited. One of the party was looking forward to the turkey but they didn't have any and one of the other members wanted pork, but again not available. There was a choice of beef, lamb and gammon. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Thank you Sam and staff at Colchester Toby Carvery. They were fantastic! Really great customer service. We had come a ways away to get the TooGoodToGo and they didn’t disappoint. There was a mess up on the app meaning we had to stay longer and Sam very kindly took good care of us. Thank you again. The food was delicious!

Really good service on the whole but I did struggle at times in finding our waitress in order to purchase more drinks for myself and family. Dining though was enjoyed in a pleasant enough atmosphere. The food was fresh, extremely tasty and in abundance with 5 different meat types on offer from the carvery; pork, gammon, turkey, beef and lamb. Desserts were a bit of a let down however, as several items on the menu were not available and the kids were left disappointed. I’m not generally a fan of this type of ‘quickie’ restaurant but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this particular visit.
