Zara's Fish Bar in Colchester

Zara's has always been a decent chippy for me. Great portions and selection. Conveniently located for local newtowners. The wait can sometimes be long but always worth it for me.

All ways delicious. Never greasy, freshly cooked and hot. Staff are so nice. Best fish and chips around.

Ordered recently to the hospital where i am admitted.Food was quite cold, the chips were hard and the fish just didn’t seem up to the standard they claimed.Strangest tasting paste like curry sauce, made me feel more unwell before my operation.Will call back to see what customer service they have to offer. Review can be amended then.

I've tried my first fish and chips here and I can say that the flavor of fish is luscious. The only thing I recommend is to salt the fish inside and less outiside.P.s. The owner is so friendly.

My wife and I had cod and chips with curry sauce from here tonight. The fish was dreadful, no flavour, horrid texture, poor batter, the curry sauce was far too salty. All for £11. Terribly disappointing, we will not be returning a d we would not recommend.

By far the best fish and chip place in Colchester.Chicken wraps I only tried recently but wow there amazing & the fish and chips are always huge portions.We’ve never been disappointed and the delivery is usually pretty prompt even on busier nights.Would defo recommend to friends 10/10

Very friendly staff, fresh food and decent portions, 100% value for money! I was very disappointed with my regular place, thought I'd give Zara's a chance and I will not go back to the other place at all. Don't be afraid to try this place, you won't be disappointed, thank you very much for the decent dinner you served me with a smile even though you seemed very busy. It's a bonus I don't need to order online as it's 10 mins walk away from me! Love it!

My wife ordered over the phone, and 15 minutes later the food was ready to be collected. Piping hot, fresh and delicious! Very friendly, professional team and the food was expertly cooked. Highly recommended 10/10
