Having stumbled across this pub by convenience, it’s fair to say I was not expecting much. For main I went for the pork loin. You would normally assume the meat to be the highlight of the dish, you would be wrong! It was all great. The roasties were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Even the carrot was extremely enjoyable, sprinkled with parsley and doused in the delicious gravy.I was not planning on having a desert, I’m not even a desert person! But after the main course performance, I thought it would be rude not to. After much deliberation, I opted for the hazelnut mouse which was encased in milk chocolate with raspberries on top and served with a salted caramel ice cream. I mean…. wow!If you’re reading this and you haven’t been to this pub, you have something to look forward to! Enjoy!

Excellent Sunday lunch venue with outstanding roast beef and Yorkshire pudding cut your liking, in medium rare, medium and well done, vegetables in our case green beans and cauliflower au gratin, fresh and delicious. All served by Jo promptly with add ons of horseradish and Dijon mustard and coffee and desert to follow.

Superb food and service, this lovely pub can be relied on for the best experience every time. The menu is just inventive enough with lots of fish, meat and veggie options. Combinations are clever but don't mask the excellence of the produce used, delicious puds and great wine list too

We went tonight for dinner as our daughter recommended it, she told us food is amazing but as important to us staff are lovely. She could not of got that more correct, the fillet steak which we both had was delicious but just as impressive to us was the lovely staff, they were friendly, really helpful, polite, funny and just perfect. We have already chosen our next meal from being nosy to who had what around us. Well done, perfect evening x

Absolutely lovely place, very quintessentially English and great desserts. The food was also lovely. I tried the King praw starters and they were okay but not worth the £9.80 or something with 4 indivudual prawns. I also had lamb leg roast which was okay. Some of the items on the menu are definitely overpriced but it's a Michelin star restaurant don't forget. Absolutely lovely staff, very polite very attending and very accommodating. Each and all of the staff are stars 🌟 and we were welcomed warmly so I thank them for their hospitality.

Always special to go to even for a hastily planned lunch for pleasure or work. The menu is exciting and the is always well prepared, served hot and delicious. The crab starter and aged beef were superb with creamed spinach and cauliflower cheese. The wine was brilliant and not overly expensive. It is a pricey meal out but it’s unrivalled for quality and experience anywhere in the area. It’s our favourite indulgence. And the staff are lovely, always.

Lovely country pub. Went there for one of their Tuesday specials, a 1 kg steak sharer. That was lush 👌. The menu looked good as well, a bit on the expensive side, but if is anything like the steak, then probably be worth it. The staff were great, very attentive. I reckon this place will be def worth a visit in the summer as well, as they have a cute garden.

Walked here for a Sunday roast after hearing good reviews. The food, in particular the starters, were delicious. Roast lamb was great. Would like to return soon to try the normal menu.

What an amazing experience. Been there for the second time and everything was perfect : delicious food and a great service. Good wine list too. Can definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Best roast beef Sunday lunch I have had since I can remember. Friendly, efficient staff and quick service. The cauliflower cheese with Bree is incredible. And the Tonka bean mousse desert was heavenly (smoky). Well worth a visit.
