I had a lovely experience here, genuine and helpful staff, perfectly cooked food, and a great atmosphere for myself and my company! We all really loved the food and I couldn’t have asked for a better steak. What made it all better was the staff, they were friendly through the whole experience and gave great recommendations for food and drink. They were very helpful regarding my husbands allergy and I cannot wait to visit again! Highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

We were impressed with the decor and ambience. The staff were lovely, especially our server Lilly. She was attentive, patient and knowledgeable of the menu and she was a joy to converse with. I can honestly say this was the most expensive meal I have ever had. BUT. As I should have expected, the steak was far and away the very best I've ever had. Cooked to absolute perfection

So the vibe and restaurant was really nice, there were some minor improvements such as you could tell there wasn't enough staff so it took a while for us to get our drinks maybe 15/20 minutes but the food did come out quite quickly the staff were very nice just not enough of them. Food was made to our specifications and was very tasty.

Very friendly service and delicious food! Between us we ordered almost all of the starters and a few different types of steak. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked - not a single fault!

We had ordered some food and had some issues with it. The nachos we ordered had hair in it but this was promptly rectified with a replacement. The chips with the steak were a little undercooked. Service was a friendly but a little lackluster in enthusiasm or speed. Other than that everything was about average so could have been better.

The steak was the best bit - perfectly cooked and very tasty. The creme brulee was pretty good too. The marrow bone sauce was tasty but a little over salted for my preference. Everything else was either pleasant but unremarkable, or fell short of our expectations. The lettuce wedge was unpleasant, slightly bitter with a drizzle of generic salad dressing and a sprinkle of barely cooked bacon or a half handful of dry cheese. When asked, the waitress estimated that about half are sent back uneaten, which suggests something is seriously wrong with this dish. The wine list was totally uninspiring for a restaurant which markets itself as upmarket. We really struggled to find something we actually wanted to drink which would compliment the meal. The service was not good. It would have been barely adequate at a cheap chain pizza restaurant. For example, we were left waiting for over 5 minutes after having our table pointed out to us, before a rather harassed waitress asked us for our drinks order - however we had not even seen a drinks menu yet! After we had finished eating and the plates had been removed, I had to call her over to get a dessert menu, rather than it being offered to us. After we'd eaten desert the plates were left on the table until after we had left. Not a big sin if it had been a cheap place, but not what we expected.Overall, there is a mismatch between the marketing and prices, which suggest upmarket, and the food, decor, drinks selection and service which are closer to a mid market pub.

Staying in King's Langley for Harry Potter studios tomorrow, but came up for a days adventure today. Tried another pub for a late lunch but there kitchen was shut, and they said to try here instead. Greeted and seated immediately, and the server was soon over to take drinks orders. A friendly chap is Jamie, made us feel at ease and was quick and efficient on drinks and food orders and the bill at the end.We went for the set menu, and the food was delicious. Great sized meals too, we managed a 3 course lunch! Soup, burger and ice-cream cookie for me, cheese mushrooms, burger and crumble for my partner. Very tasty all round and a brilliant price too. Definitely somewhere to return to in the future. Thanks for having us!

I’m a vegetarian and I just ate a lot of sides instead of a main and they were very good! I recommend the nachos and halloumi fries and THE KNICKERBOCKER GLORY WAS TO DIE FOR so flavourful! Not much choice for the mains for veggies but sides are great. Hollie was amazing and very understanding of everything! Best waitress! She even gave us a special birthday message for my boyfriend
