Red Lion in Dacorum

We love this restaurant and visit often but sadly today was a big disappointment.When we went to order I tried to order a pizza only to be told that the pizza oven was broken (we came specifically for pizza). The lady said we should have been told that before we were seated (we would have left if we'd been told this at the start). Then we tried to order burgers only to be told that burgers were also out of stock now. Begrudgingly we ordered alternative menu items, which were OK but not great. The chunky chips were hard and not nice at all, such a shame and waste of money.As for the desserts, 3 on the menu were unavailable so yet again we had to choose an alternative.Such a disappointing day (was a special occasion for us as well).

Disappointed with our visit today (we have been on off regulars for about 8years and eat every 2 or so months) we usually recommend this resturant to everyone we know as have never had a bad meal.The food is usually very good but today food was mediocre for the price (which has recently gone up), dirty glasses and tableware (my 4year olds ice cream came in what could only be described as an unwashed bowl).We did not complain as in context it was not that bad and still nice food but I would really like to see the standard back to how it used to be.

Lovely pub offering a warm atmosphere and pleasing decor. We met friends for breakfast Sunday. All food was very good, Full English X 2, Smashed Avocado poached egg on sour dough toast. My Eggs Benedict was beautiful flavours, but was served cool, which was disappointing.

Easy online booking service, great welcome by the guy who greeted us and took us to our table for my 'appointment with a burger!' Ha haaa ;) Lovely table and the food was lush. Every member of staff were really friendly. My friend Claire & I will be back soon for our next lunch date in a couple of weeks! Thank you x

Excellent food. Pods are amazing. Lovely place for a special occasion. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nice big pub but staff act like chavs, who can't even notice two cotton napkins on the floor under a tall table. Also when serving a customer at the bar please do not talk over me to a regular customer over my shoulder. Staff need training

Nice place and atmosphere. Tried to cut sprouts with steel knife. Sprout 1 Knife 0. Threw sprout on table. Went through table. Went through floor. Exited Tasman Sea at escape velocity and was last seen near Ganymede.

Went today was absolutely shocking. I understand it was busy but it's lunch time on a Sunday in December so why wouldn't it be? Therefore I don't think it's an excuse for terrible service and awful food. Drinks took and age to arrive and had such a long wait for our food. Had to send my burger back which was burnt to a crisp and a complete joke to charge £15. My wife had this prawn spaghetti thing which was the same price and looked horrible as did the other food in our group. They couldn't even get our bill correct at the end. Will never go back. Awful.

Really enjoyed the food and thought it was very reasonably priced. The indoor and outdoor areas where lovely. Will definitely be going again.

Came here for Sunday brunch. Excellent choices on the menu; mind you that the Sunday roast items can only be ordered from 12.30 onwards. The Mushroom Wellington is an excellent choice for vegetarians! Their garlic bread is more like a white pizza, not garlic knots. All in all excellent food and great service.
