Seattle Steak House in Dacorum

Gave our table away on Mother's Day Lunch!We were 10 minutes late, were told they were 'really busy' and had accepted a walk in. There were 3 suitable tables for our group unoccupied, which were for 'other bookings'. it took several minutes for a manager to appear who could only offer us a wait outside (7 degrees!) with a baby and pensioner, in case someone else was a no-show?! We literally had a booking! It looked like some other patrons behind us were given a similar story... they were also too busy to call and check if we were on our way, even though the lad on the front desk was doing nothing when we arrived.What is the point of accepting bookings on one of the busiest food days if you will not honour them? Poor. We went elsewhere.

Just moved to the area so thought we’d give Boxmoor Dining Rooms (formally Steakhouse) a go. Absolutely loved it! Delicious food and honestly some of the best service I’ve had in years. The two young lads that looked after our table were excellent. We’ll be back!

Where to even start. Upon arriving our table was not ready, so we were told to wait outside in 6 degrees until they were ready for us. Once we were inside 2 staff members were very attentive apart from “Simmy”. Which is where the disappointment and sheer rudeness begun. After being pushed constantly to order (we had only been sat down for a few minutes) Our steak was extremely over cooked and dry and when we mentioned it we were told it was because we had left it on the stone for too long (this was only just served, we hadn’t even had time to even smell it let alone leave it on the stone for too long) once the bill came we questioned why we were being charged for 2 dishes we couldn’t even eat. Her reply shocked me to my core “no offence, but you wouldn’t understand the reason” - Simmy said with a complete air of arrogance speaking down to us. I asked her why we wouldn’t understand her explanation and she said because of bird flu this is the only Ostrich we can provide, but this wasn’t stipulated at the beginning. She then went on to raise her voice and made us feel victimised by her narcissistic attitude, she took take no responsibility for her unprofessional attitude leaving my family I in complete shock over what we had just heard and witnessed. I a extremely disappointed, as we’ve been here many times and a had a wonderful time. Thank goodness we’d never been served by Sit before and I hope no one else experiences the wrong side of her attitude.

First time there and I’m impressed.Menu with a lot of choices and the quality. AhhI tried the stakes… something incredible especially “kangaroo” served on the hot stone, something special I’m telling you. It’s a quiet place on the Sunday afternoon when I was there and I really enjoyed my time. The staff is really polite and helpful. I recommend this place for the food!Thanks :)

Food and service were fine, but not great for the price. This was our first visit and was mid-week. Probably a better experience if you like jazz music which I don't!

Beside the laidback speed of service for food, it was a great place to eat out as a group. Flavoursome meats and lovely and helpful stuff.

First time I have been here after a recommendation from a friend, absolutely fantastic food, definitely worth a visit, will be going again for sure

We had people driving for over an hour to meet there for lunch. We booked a table in advance, turned up and it was shut. The front door was open, but it was like a ghost town. I range the restaurant while sitting in the restaurant and was told, "Oh no, we don't open for lunch". But you took my booking. I used your booking service and it let me book for 12:30 and Google says that you open from 12:00. "It shouldn't. We're not busy enough. Not enough customers - so we're only opening in the evening".I just tried again now - and their site STILL lets me book for lunchtime tomorrow :-(

Food was very tasty. We didn't opt for the steak just because other options looked good too. Great cocktails and wine. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Would recommend you book a table.One consideration for other patrons if you're getting a rare steak, a lot of steaks seemed to have been served on a hot plate which obviously continues to cook the meat whilst you eat it. As I say, I didn't get the steak so it wasn't an issue for me, but something to clarify if you are planning to get a good rare steak.
