The Crown and Sceptre in Dacorum

No dogs allowed in doors even though GBG shows allowedSaying that I'll update CAMRA, normally ask about dog but busy and couldn't.Bad review as only offered out side so didn't have a drink. :-(........................Update...i've asked CAMRO to remove dog friendly advise to save conusion

Looking for a place to have a lunch and running late. This pub is in the old tradition not changed or updated in years and the better for it. Enjoyed the meal at a reasonable price.

A superb, old style country pub. Excellent beers and wonderful home cooked food.

Stopped in for lunch and had a great meal but we're lucky to get the last table... Will reserve in the future.

Fantastic, cosy and authentic pub. I had the Roast Beef with mash, yorkshire pudding, veg and gravy. Marvellous stuff. Staff were brilliant and even bumped into a broadcasting legend. The best of British right here.

Tasty hot beef sandwich and salad, welcoming staff (even for an out-of-towner), quick service, coffee wasn’t half bad either. Takes card, minimum spend £10.

Fantastic "proper" pub! I've been local to the Crown and Sceptre for 5 months, and from the second time I walked through the door I have been greeted by name, pint poured before I get to the bar, and real home cooked meals like your Mum used to serve up...!
