I haven't been here since probably my late teens (about 20 years ago). On a trip to bring my daughter to stat with my mum, I decided to take small piece in for lunch.Staff were great.Bread supplier had let them down so no bread for lunch but that is something out of their control and they were so calm and genuine about it.Food was great! Daughter had child's pizza which was a full 10-12", lovely and thin, crispy. My pie was very generous served with mash, veg and extra gravy.Really can't fault it!

Had a great meal here, really good quality food and a nice variety of options on the menu. They have a great care for dietary requirements as the friendly staff were careful to check everything for me when I mentioned my lactose intolerance. Special mention that we were even accommodated extra time at our table when I had to quickly go out.

I cannot fault the friendly service here, the staff are a pleasure to talk to and very good at catering for dietary needs. They even without enquiry made some changes so that we could stay at our table longer after an emergency made one of our party have to quickly leave the pub, and they wanted to come back to sample the vegan desserts! 10/10

Lovely interior with a decent choice of seating for parties of different sizes. Would recommend this for food over The Paper Mill. Service was fairly attentive and the food neatly presented

Not nice went here about three years ago for family meal and walked out as half of order was not available of which we were not told prior to ordering. Problem with suppliers. Was talked into returning by friends who had a nice meal previously. Well went in with our friends sat down waitress arrived menus handed out, no comments made. My wife mentioned our previous experience about items not available, we were then told of items not available two starters, two main. Not happy. Adjusted our order to fit available food, then asked what soup of day was not able to say. Had meal which was OK, then went to order desserts and yet again items missing. Believe it or not there were problems with supplier, matter still not sorted. Have now lost further custom. You should present menu with items that are available or at least tell people prior to ordering. Not happy.

We went for New Years Day lunch last time as we couldn't be bothered to cook. We like this place so go a few times a year. The issue we have is that the music is overly loud - especially for anyone with hearing difficulties. Also the choice of music is just pop and poor if you don't like the latest stuff in the charts. Not very in keeping with the pub or place it's in.The food itself is good and the selection of drinks is impressive.Staff are nice and it's a good place to be. But outside is usually better (even though there is music out there too!).Sitting by the river in the summer is great and the parking is quite good too.

Had a fantastic lunch after a long walk. Always brilliant service from the GM there who works tirelessly, in very difficult covid/staff shortage circumstances. Despite being very busy, the food came quickly and very tasty. Would highly recommend! Thank you.

Very friendly atmosphere. Had a great meal, efficient service. The waitress we had for the night was lovely, welcoming and happy. Good value for money. Would recommend.

Nice little pub on the edge of the Grand Canal near Hemel Hempstead station so travelling is easy. They have ample car parking available. The wait staff are quite attentive although it can get very busy at times. The outdoor seating is great fo the evening and the food is very tasty. Would recommend the brownie for dessert.
