The Lemon Plaice in Dacorum

Absolutely revolting, will not be coming here again. Fish cold in the middle due to being defrosted in the microwave before frying, soggy with grease and bland to the taste. Shop filthy, inside covered with cobwebs all over, dread to think what its like in the kitchen. If you have any alternative over eating here, do that instead.

Would not go here again - me and the missus both believe we got food poisoning from the fish. It was taken out of the counter (not sure how long it was in there) and the batter was soggy, not crispy, indicating the oil not being as hot as it should be.Generous portion of chips, and very cheap.

Highly dependents on staff member working if the serve is a good one. Usually its unprofessional, rude and not even available until you shout a few times for someone to cime. Waiting time, usually, is 10+ minutes. Dry chiken to be expected. Chips + chiken have low chance of being really good, usually however you just eat grease

I decided not to buy anything from here in view of their last Food Hygiene Rating of 0 out of 5 on 27/1/2021 stating Urgent Improvement Necessary, highlighting Compliance with Hygiene was Poor. See attached photo.

Chips are Great if you Dont mind waiting the 20 mins watching them fry as there never ready like most things in the shop empty..counters..also if people waiting and not enough chips the large bag is always smaller joke

Ok place seemed clean, he had run out of ketchup so he gave me some mayonnaise not charged as well, ordered chicken burger and chips, chips where freshly cooked and very nice so was the chicken burger, all the please and thank you so was polite and professional manner etc, was on his own, I can see however if he was having a bad day I could tell he would have no problems being rude not sure How I could know that just an healthy hunch, so he never seemed really happy he seemed to not smile once but you can't really mark him down for that, so on this occasion he scored a full 5 stars!

Had to wait 10 mins for chips to be cooked, which I didn't mind because means they are fresh. Unfortunately I only ate about 6 chips before the taste of oil took over, very greasy and just tastes of oil.Chicken was ok but again very greasy. Wont return

Terrible service. Rude and unprofessional. Quick enough to take money but very slow at service. Was a great chip shop years ago. Definitely gone down hill now.
