A beautifully renovated pub serving amazing food. Well worth a visit

A throughly underwhelming experience.Pints were served in warm plastic cups and the price of the food does not reflect the quality. Will probably not be going again. The app menu was riddled with spelling errors, which made it look very unprofessional.The Staff were very friendly however, this didn’t go unnoticed, and the location is picturesque, situated in a nice spot beside the canal.

Clearly from other reviews this is usually a good place to wine and dine however unfortunately for us our experience was not so good last night.Because of the covid restrictions, we booked an outdoor table for 9.30pm for 2 hours using the online system. The initial welcome was warm and friendly so we were off to a good start.However there was a limited range of drinks and my drinks ordered via the app arrived seriously short of a full measure, I polite asked the waitress to top it up. My drink then disappeared for about 15 minutes before I had to chase it up.We were unable to order a second drink via the app, only a out of stock notification on all drinks on the menu as a response. Shortly after that, to add insult to injury we were told at 10:15 that last orders had passed and it was time for everyone to go, basically an hour and a quarter early! None of this was clear from the website (hours open to 11pm it says) and why allow a 2 hour booking if they don't intend to serve after 10pm? What would have happened if we had made a reservation for 10 or 10:30?Sadly, I will not be returning.Post Script: The Landlord contacted me following the review to apologise and to explain the steps they are taking to avoid this happening again. He also went out of the way to see what could be done to make amends which I appreciated. I'm sure I will return at some stage now.

Brilliant outdoor set up in a beautiful location next to the canal. The staff were what made it though and they couldn't do enough to make us have an enjoyable evening. Great gin collection too!

Lovely evening out to celebrate my partners Birthday. All staff were super friendly and more than helpful with regard to helping order food and drink via their app during these testing times.Food was extremely tasty and portion sizes were plenty! At no point were we rushed and it was very relaxed. Everything has been put in place to ensure everyone is kept at a distance and well sanitized at the same time making you feel comfortable and relaxed.We first met here 4 years ago and been back a few times and always had a great meal and a decent pint.Thanks to all staff for being so great and will see you all again soon.

Such a wonderful setting outside with really great service and an easy-to-use online no-touch ordering service. Lovely place. Next time I’ll bring my dog :)

With the pubs opening again we have come down to the old mill the last two days. The first a very very busy Sunday, we had not booked for and Andy was kind enough to find us a table for a quick drink even though they were packed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was quick despite clearly being busy. We have been visiting various pubs to let off some lockdown steam, the old mill by far was the safest we have visited. We felt very safe and it was lovely the staff remembered us from the day before. The manager (did not catch his name) was so helpful both days and was very pleasant to speak with!Personally their attention to the restrictions and respect for their staff and customers safety has made me want to return again.Very well done for such a nice welcoming safe environment. More should follow your example.

The staff were great, and they have great Covid measures in place. We sat outside by the canal which was lovely for us and my dog who was given water and a treat.My only niggle was the food portions were a little too "nouvelle" at times; when they charge £6 for halloumi skewerS (plural) I expect more than one to appear, same with the fish cakeS. Lovely place to go to, just maybe not when you're hungry!

Really nice pub nice and clean. Went for breakfast good quality ingredients. Ok for value for money.

Perfect pub. Very attentive and fast service. The food is even better now than it was before. The crispiest Sunday roast potatoes ever. Extremely good mulled wine. Will definitely be returning. No picture of my roast because I was too busy tucking into it.
