Pizza Express in East Cambridgeshire

Great food. Very nice staff. Nice place.

The food and service were excellent. We both had dough balls and lasagna and my brother had cheesecake. Could not fault it st all.

Nice place with friendl, welcoming and attentive staff. The pizzas we ordered were plentiful and hot. However, a little more depth of flavour to the pizzas would be good and make for a 5 star rating.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner this evening. We were really looked after by Joel. He was attentive and courteous. Thank you. We definitely will be coming back to your Restaurant in Ely.

A dear friend of mine gave me a gift card for Pizza Express. Unfortunately with the Covid Pandemic we don't much feel like eating out at the moment, so I called Pizza Express Ely to place an collection order and use my gift card. They said they only except Pizza Express gift cards if we eat in the restaurant. Mind you I was going to place an order with all the same things we would have ordered in the restaurant including drinks etc. I then called Pizza Express Newmarket who happily took my order and excepted the gift card as a collection order. I again phoned Ely Pizza Express and a different person answered the phone who did not seem phased that they had just lost a meal order of £60+. They blame business shutting down because of Covid, but some business will not survive this economical climate because they are just poor at running a business. We certainly won't be eating here or referring our friends to this restaurant any time soon.

Had the Festive Sharer deal twice now and it doesn't disappoint, pizzas are hot on arrival and really tasty. Only wish there were more pizza options included in the bundle otherwise its great.

Sunday evening after the Cathedral Advent service we booked a table for two at 7 30.Staff were OK but were obviously keen to go home. Pizza arrived in good time but they were clearing our plates before we'd finished eating our last mouthful. Waiter was back in 30 seconds with the desert menu. We ate our had dolcetti while a waitress stacked chairs on tables around us and our bill arrived while we were still eating. We felt like an inconvenience. We were gone by 8 50.If you want repeat business you need to make people feel welcome...you didn't. We wished we'd gone to Prezzo. Good food rushed service.

Visited for lunch with my 21 month old granddaughter and daughter. On arrival, no high chair offered, we had to go searching for one. Our order was taken swiftly and the starter arrived shortly after. But we waited 50 minutes for our mains and that was only after I chased up the delay. All 3 dishes arrived at separate times. My daughter's pizza was cold as it had obviously been left standing for a long period of time, my granddaughter's pasta (child's meal) was boiling hot. I asked for a bowl so that I could use to separate the pasta, to cool it down. No bowl arrived so I went to the kitchen area to collect one myself. Here I saw my salad being prepared with the member of staff using her hands and not wearing gloves to add the ingredients to the bowl. If my granddaughter had not been so hungry we would have left without eating the food. I will never eat at this restaurant again. During a previous visit a few weeks earlier, we experienced poor service, but thought it was a one off. Obviously not. The overall star rating for this restaurant I find surprising but as many of the high star ratings have been given by local guides, this may be the reason.
