Red Lion Pub in East Cambridgeshire

Wedding weekend at the Red Lion InnI would like to publicly thank the red lion team, consisting of Harpal, Tracey,Lynne,carol, Alan and Steve for a wonderful weekend. We stayed as a family 0f 12 for 4 nights at the Red Lion whilst attending a wedding at Willow Grange farm.We cannot fault the hospitality, being accommodating to our changing needs during this time. The food was beautiful cooked, plentiful and our needs were cheerfully attended to, even opening the kitchen after a busy fathers day lunch.Rooms were clean, showers excellent, nice comfy beds and fresh towels. the village is very beautiful a with quaint English country friendliness.Thank you for the laughs, ,memories and attention during out stay.

Great pub, good atmosphere, busy with locals and visitors alike. Nice to see people enjoying their evening while their dogs were sleeping under the tables.Stayed a couple of nights, good breakfasts, free parking and WiFi. Only left off one star as the room was a bit shabby, but very clean.Would come again, but in a different room.

Was great, friendly helpful staff.Disabled bathroom needs a bit of tlc. Rusty radiator and towel holder. Will deffo go back

A great pub with nice rooms, friendly staff, a great menu and good range of drinks

Stayed here many times always been fine. We stayed four days ago and never again. Firstly we went to the diner which was closed a table was set up in the bar. We ordered our meal rather quicker than we wanted at 6pm because the lady taking orders was rushing us. I ordered ham egg chips. When it arrived the ham was thin reconstituted sandwich ham from a supermarket hard white fry’s not chips as ordered. We asked the time of breakfast next morning we were told 7.30 am we asked can we come down a little later she said yes 7.45. Great. Full English breakfast wasn’t nice at all very fatty bacon. I would say a child’s potion. We were giving one small cup of like warm coffee. No sugar to be seen. And had to go up to room to bring a cold drink down.And regarding the price for b&b has gone up £20 a night. I wasn’t happy at all. We will never stay there again .

Randomly stopped for a meal while on a journey . Dog friendly, great freshly cooked food, lovely atmosphere of a traditional pub. Friendly welcoming staff. Will definitely visit again.

Stayed in Room 11. The room was clean, the shower good and the lady in charge (not the owner) was very pleasant. BUT ... this was the smallest B&B room and bed that we have ever stayed/slept in. the many scratches on the wall above the bed were disconcerting (it looked as though the Lion that came to Tea had also stayed the night) and the black and yellow 'warning' tape used to stick the hairdryer to the wall lacked class. Breakfast was served between 07:00 and 08:00, what is that all about? We made the effort, got up early, arrived at breakfast for 7:45 but then wished we hadn't. 'Coffee' was boil your own kettle and help yourself to as much instant coffee from a catering tin of instant coffee. No cereals or toast were offered and the cooked breakfast (no option for how you wanted your eggs cooked) appeared to have been cooked an hour or two earlier and kept warm. It certainly wasn't cooked to order as it appeared within a minute of us putting in our order. Insult to injury was 'breakfast', if that is what it was, cost an extra £5 per person. Unfortunately we had booked two days, but managed to save ourselves a tenner by not having breakfast on the second day. Sorry, but despite the good bits, this was the worst B&B experience we have had to date.

There asking £455 for a single for seven days and it's not worth it I've been here four nights and it's still the same bedding and towels to be honest it's horrible boil your own kettle at the bar and grab your own cutlery and find a table and wait for a really horrible breakfast to be served all for an extra £5 a day. Come and stay and decide for yourself.

We had dinner at the Red Lion, and it was so nice we went back for lunch the next day!It's good pub grub, the chips were delicious (always a good sign!) and it was good hearty tasty food at very reasonable prices. The service was good and there is a great selection of gins.Lunch was a Sunday roast dinner and it was simply delicious, would thoroughly recommend going here.The decor isn't as slick as it could be, but don't let this put you off as the food and service are great. Very lucky to have such a good pub as the local.
