Saffron Indian Takeaway in East Cambridgeshire

We have collected a few takeaways from Saffron since opening, it’s always delicious; we’ve never had a bad meal. Glad to have a decent local takeaway, looking forward to a few more!

Delicious and authentic, the best Indian food I've had in years. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I particularly liked the decor of the restaurant and the beautiful serving plates and cups. I strongly recommend this lovely place.

We ordered last night, the curry was incredible and much better than last time, they have definitely stepped up their game. Delivery was also super fast! Thank you!

We ordered a take away this evening to be delivered. It turned up on time and was, quite honestly, one of the best Indian meals we’ve had in a while. The food was really, really good and we will be ordering again very soon. I’d recommend the biryanis the one I had was superb.

My family and I have been to Saffron quite a few times and every time the experience has been lovely. The food is amazing and service is great. Will definitely go again. The only issue is that it’s a little cold but i’m aware they are in the process of getting central heating.

We have had a very mixed experience from Saffron so far. We had a takeaway that was mediocre, although the poppadoms (as mentioned by many other people) were truly awful and we got the wrong kind of naan.My parents have been for an eat-in meal on several occasions since then and said it was very good, so we decided to give it another chance as we wanted to support the local business.Our eat-in experience was much better. The taste of the food was absolutely amazing (apart from the poppadoms which were still awful). The waiter was very friendly and helpful and the owner was also very friendly and interested in our feedback (whether he acts on it or not is another matter).Our personal view is that they offer a far too large menu: rather than getting a small number of things right they seem to spread themselves too thin. Also the poppadoms need serious work.We will keep persevering with supporting them and hope that they do learn from experience and feedback.

We were very disappointed with our first ever order with this local takeaway. It was ordered well in advance on Saturday however it was delivered 1 hour and 15 mins after the arrival time requested! The curries and naan breads were cold so we had to warm it all up! The keema and plain naans were burnt

Unfortunately it was one of the worst Indian's I've ever had. I order from various other places around Royston and this was the first time I tried these. I can't say that any thing was good.... food was stone cold, chicken tikka dansak was tasteless, no flavour or spice. The same with the Bhuna and that was tastless and watery fwhich seemed to be just finely chopped onion. Both currys tasted as if they were chopped tin tomatoes. The sag paneer was watery and tasted fake with only 3 pieces of cheese. The rice's were also very watery too. The the keema naan had the smallest amount of meat in it that I have ever had from a nan bread and was so dry and cold I had to throw it away. I was so annoyed and disappointed with this restaurant that I actually paid almost £50 for this rubbish.I will not recommend this place to anyone!

We like to support local businesses so ordered a takeaway on New Years Eve. Saffron Cuisine hasn't been open that long so we decided to try it. The poppadoms were not cooked fully cooked. The starters were ok but the sauces out of a bottle. The pilau rice was very good. Our main courses were ok as were the side dishes. I would describe the meal as average and so probably won't use the takeaway service again. There are others to choose from nearby in Royston.

Disappointing first experience at Saffron, though we like to support local businesses and there's a lot of choice when it comes to Indian food in the area. Our poppadoms weren't fully cooked - this made them chewy - and the same sauce was used for a Rogon Josh as for a Bhuna; both no better than a supermarket bottled sauce. Perhaps someone thought no one would notice the similarity in the sauces? My lamb dopiaza was bland and mainly onion, with little lamb. And if you order online, there's still a service charge despite picking up yourself. So just hoping that things improve as local businesses deserve everyone's custom as long as they offer reasonable food.
