The Fish House Ely in East Cambridgeshire

Very kind and accommodating staff. Really friendly people helping you choose and sitting you down. Food was really nice and immediately available. The indoor space could benefit from some quiet music and less noise from the kitchen door, but was otherwise really nice.

Good Fish and Chips, nice staff and great prices. Always a good place to have a nice meal on the go or inside!

Always polite friendly staff, and the food is delicious, I love their large cod chunks, and their homemade fishcake is delicious, chips are always fluffy on the inside, and their battered Sausage has the best flavour in Ely.

just got some bussin chips from here. they were very good. there's also outdoor seating. would've given it a 5, but there's no card transactions, but there is a cash machine just round the corner

Very nice cod and chips, a little seating outside and some other benches nearby. Unusually they don't take plastic, Google Pay etc. The helpful server there did point out that there was a cash machine close by but that doesn't help if all you have with you is your phone.

Went inside to put my bag in one of the tables before ordering. Didn't see the sign as it was put below the eye level. Suddenly this cashier "man" came into the restaurant and ordered me to not sit down before i place my order. I was taken aback because he shouted at me. I was going to order but the attitude of this man was awful. I did then tell him not to treat a customer like that as i didn't see the sign. Then he had the audacity to say that i was shouting at him! Well, you have lost a customer with your horrible attitude. Been a loyal customer for many years but no more. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant. Awful rude man.

Great fish and chips. Lovely seating area. The facilities are clean and modern. You can even get a nice cup of tea with your meal. Perfect chippy

Took Mum out for the day for her birthday and she loves Ely. We both fancied fish and chips so we stopped off at the Fish House. Friendly, attentive staff and amazing fish and chips. Really tasty and generous portions. Just wish I lived a bit closer!

Good value fish and chips. Was busy when I went but this was Friday 5 pm. Well ordered queue to order then sat outside and waited for my number. Good range of options on the menu. I had a half portion of chips which was fine for my battered haddock which was freshly cooked to order. I also bought a mini meal which was excellent value and came with mushy peas. Cash only.

2nd best fish shop in town. The 1st is a pub that I won’t mention. The batter is great, chips always fresh in my experience & curry sauce hits the spot. I would definitely eat here more, but I don’t always have cash in my pocket.
