Catherine Wheel Pub in East Hertfordshire

I think I have found the perfect pub.The people are friendly , the food is excellent and the beer 🍺 😋.We had such a good time there ,we will definitely come again.

Great main meal (starters are so so) extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Place looks nice. Tried to stop her for Sunday lunch but they were too busy to take food orders. Was plenty of available seats but maybe they were under staffed for a sunny day. Found it a bit odd that they didn’t want to take our money.

Beautiful pub with a front and back patio plus a huge, grassy garden including a children's fort play area.Nice place to catch the last rays of the sun. I imagine it's heaving on hot, sunny days

Excellent smart venue with great food and excellent staff. Plenty of things for the kids to do in the play garden. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Helpful and charming staff. A real gourmet pub.

Excellent food , Roast Beef was full of flavour &,tender & Desserts were all fab ( Our only problem was deciding ! ).Good Wine List too.Will be going back without a doubt ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently visited The Catherine Wheel with a group of friends and so enjoyed our evening.The food is excellent, prepared to a high standard and using locally sourced produce too. The portions are generous so unfortunately I couldn't manage a dessert!!The staff are pleasant and attentive making us feel very welcome.The outside area of the pub/restaurant has lots of seating and a wonderful play area for children so this is somewhere we will be able to bring our grandchildren in the warmer weather.I can highly recommended The Catherine Wheel and look forward to coming back soon.

What a gem! Pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere excellent gem of staff, service and great food. So nice to find a pub that defies the standard approach of the big chains.We will look forward to going back in the summer and sitting in the extensive grounds to enjoy a drink and a meal with the family and friends.Well done to the team at the Catherine Wheel

Large table of us visited for dinner and the service was outstanding. The food was fantastic. The chef introduced himself to the table and had a great sense of humour! Will certainly be returning.

We came here with our two children for a spot of Sunday lunch. The hardest part of the visit was to try and decide what we would like to eat, as the menu has great choices with all locally sourced ingredients 👍. Luckily I made the right choice and took the last Suet pudding of the day off the menu, as it was absolutely delicious. A particular highlight was the gravy, which was to die for. My wife selected the gluten free chicken roast which looked absolutely fabulous too. Both kids sat in silence eating every mouthful of their Sunday roast, which was generous in size. Then on to the puddings, again all great with great selection of gluten free options. All the staff where so friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. The climbing frame and sandpit outside was a great hit with the kids too. So great to have a local country pub with locally sourced food and drinks available, with an amazing outside space for the kids to let off some steam. We will definitely be coming again!!!
