Fanhams Hall Hotel in East Hertfordshire

We were the wedding DJs at Fanhams Hall for Thomas & Kim and absolutely loved playing here! The venue is beautiful and we had such a great night!! Looking forward to coming back again soon <3

I flew in from Ireland for a wedding in Fanhams Hall on 20/03/2022 and it was fantastic from start to finish. Quick check-in and straight to my room. I had a double bed for just me with a large en-suite with waterfall shower. The room was immaculately clean and had all the necessary amenities. Iron, ironing board, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a kettle as well as complimentary bottled water and sockets beside the bed for my phone, only thing missing was a hair dryer. It also had a lovely view of the grounds despite being on the ground floor. There was no noise from the hallway which was also nice. The wedding ceremony was held upstairs and the room was decorated beautifully for the occasion and we all went outside to the grounds for photos afterwards (the ground are fabulous). The food after was very nice and very well presented and spread out at perfect intervals. Later on we had the party in the downstairs function room which was great, not a huge dance floor but a good size for the size of the wedding and they had more food later which kept us going. The buffet breakfast next day was also great (picture below), all things considered it’s a great venue and would absolutely return in the future.

This used to be the best place for Sunday Lunch. However, we went there last Sunday only to find that they no longer do a help yourself buffet for starters and deserts. Instead they have opted to give a menu, which is very limited. There was little choice on the starters. One of our guests had the Mackerel and the portion was tiny and there was only one piece of Mackerel in the dish! He is a Head Chef and could not believe the tiny size or the lack of Mackerel! The Carvery, although perfectly cooked, had little vegetable choice and diners were given just one slice of two meats or 2 slices of one meat. Unless you liked fruity deserts, you would be hard pushed to find one. No chocolate deserts on offer at all. I opted for the cheese board, but this was very disappointing as there were about 4 biscuits of acquired taste. No ‘normal’ biscuits at all so no cream crackers! Such a shame as they have ruined what used to be the best carvery ever. It is certainly not value for money priced at £32.50 a head especially when the choices are so limited and the portions inadequate. I never thought I’d say this, but I will not be going there again.

Lovely venue (old mansion house) set in beautiful grounds. Attended a wedding for which it caters really well. Ceremony room was decorated beautifully, food was good and generally the service was good - found myself waiting at the bar a couple of times because there were no staff there, on one accoaision I needed to ask if there were staff. Losing a star for that is a bit harsh as that was really the only issue.Accommodation was well appointed, breakfast was standard fair but most enjoyable and really needed at the time 😁

We had a lovely afternoon tea, staff very friendly and attentive, very picturesque venue. The only negative point I can make is we were charged a service charge on top of the price. Which we have never paid previously when we have had afternoon tea here before. Which I thought was a bit unfair.

Beautiful setting. The grounds in the winter sunshine lovely. My experience of Sunday lunch yesterday as part of a birthday celebration was distinctly average. Roast beef lovely, roast potatoes inedible - been cooked a long time before service. Not all starters available and if you say “caviar” with the salmon starter then don’t serve some strange manufactured fake stuff. Lumpfish caviar is not so expensive.Staff seemed bored and unenthusiastic. Fireplace area “reserved” so my party unable to meet up properly before the meal.For £35 plus drinks I would suggest you go to a local country pub somewhere instead.

Incredibly beautiful building and grounds. It's a shame I was only able to stay for one night as I would have loved to check out the fitness facilities and karaoke klub.I will check them out next time because I'll definitely be back.

Lovely venue which we attended for 3 course Sunday lunch. Attended for a family celebration (15 persons). Food and service were excellent and enjoyed the afternoon. Dining room was relatively quiet given the pandemic,. Open plan and spacious. Would recommend.

We had our wedding here and we could not fault Fanhams at all. The wedding team in the lead up (Lauren) were so supportive and relaxed considering we were planning during an uncertain pandemic! The staff are organised, on the ball and were always one step ahead in the planning! Erhan on the day was extremely organised and worked with all of our other suppliers, registrars, toastmaster and band seamlessly in the background - leaving us to enjoy our day and not worry about anything! The food on the day was excellent - we had so many guests compliment the food - including the range and quality of vegetarian options which are often sub-par at weddings. Bar and waiting staff superb, professional and attentive. The bridal suite was gorgeous. They really made sure we had the most special day.

Excellent! We stayed here on business and used their downstairs conference room. The staff were brilliant from start to finish. Everyone was polite, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were perfect, well appointed, clean and had a super comfy bed. The grounds are great for a quick walk and very well maintained. It’s certainly worth a walk around the Japanese gardens.We will be back. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a conference, or event. Great job. Thank you
